Poor quality product for 3 reasons:[1] Product not as described (does not come with a belt, only the leash).[2] The edge is poorly finished. The manufacturer is not using a hot knife to cut the webbing and when they are trying to finish the cut edges they are applying too much heat. As a result the edge of the leash has a box stitch that is melted in half and edges that are so raggedy- sharp they could pierce skin. See photos.[3] excessive amount of bungee compared to static (non-bungee) leash. If you have a small to medium sized dog who gets a running start they will be catapulted back to where they came from once they reach the end of the outstretched leash.

fabulous for long walks. I have a giant schnauzer who loves to walk. We do approximately 5 miles a day. It is wonderful to be able to swing my arms and enjoy the walk. My husband was wary of the design and thought Max would take for spill the first time he saw a squirrel. Max is well trained, but does pull on occasion, he quickly learned that when there was tension from the elastic cord to slow down. It is Great!

The leash is much to short and the elasticity becomes a safety concern when you need to restrain the dog due to other dogs or crossing the street. Also for owners who have a pulling dog on leash, these types of products just reinforce the pulling, as the get used to constant pressure being acceptable. Also beware if you buy, the sellers do not credit for return shipping, so I basically just burned $15.

The concept of this lease is pretty great. However, you should know how your dog moves when he/she is walked or running with you. I have a small dog who loves to run side to side and she runs really fast! The lease length is definitely not long enough for us to use, and it doesn't stretch out easily enough to accomodate our movement and distances needed between us. Also, the snap part that connects the waist band is very difficult to open and release... It was quite frustrating as two of us had to try to pry it open a few times. HOWEVER, my daughter loves to use this with our dog. She's way shorter than I am and it makes it easier for them to maneuver than with me.It IS definitely a hands free leash, you have no limitations when running with your dog, if your doggie doesn't run too far before you.The materials are very strong and durable! It feels like it lasts forever and can go through a war without being scratched! The Abyss hands free dog leash won't allow for your dog to run free but it needs a little more freedom.There is an adjustable waist that can be tightened as much as you want, fits most adults, not children.I received this product at a discount rate for my honest and unbiased review.

This is a very handy leash to have around if you have dogs! I have used the leash for my dog to run along side me. I like the fact that the part the connects onto his collar is like a bungee type of leash. So if you stop in a quick way, or slow down while running, it doesnt jerk their necks. The adjustable strap that goes around your waist has a locking feature on the buckle for extra security that it doesnt come off. Which is a great feature to have. I dont have to worry so much about it breaking the buckle by a sudden stop. I originally bought the leash to have my dog run by my side. But i have found i can use it in other ways as well. I have also used it just for a regular walk around the block. But i attached my regular leash to it to give him some extra privacy while he is doing his business. Its very convenient to have, especially in these winter months. When i take my dog out for his night time walk i can have my hands warm in my pockets and not have to worry about having my hand out in the cold holding a leash. Also i think that the leash is very light weight and made of strong material. Ive had no issues with the buckle or the clips. I overall rate this leash a five. Unfortunately this product didn't work for me because I have a Westie so the leash was a little too short and he wasn't really strong enough to take advantage of the heavy duty elasticity of the leash without getting jerked back when he stopped pulling. I gifted this to my friend who had a pit bull puppy and although the length of the leash was no problem for her, her dog was TOO strong for this product because her puppy kept jerking her around without my friend being able to control her. With my blessing she re-gifted the leash to a friend of ours who has a nice calm yellow lab and she loves being able to use it to take her dog on runs or to have her hands free while doing stuff with her dog in their unfenced yard. So although sadly it wasn't a winner for me or my first friend who tried it I'm still giving it four stars because it feels like a high quality product and has a lot of potential if you have a tall enough dog who isn't too strong of a puller.Note: I recieved this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest, unbiased review.
