Daher 2 Sterne Abzug.

Matches older MacBook styling but usable with other systems, too
Replaces a previously purchased device with similar functionality other than its card reader section never worked and was also very poorly made and falling apart. This Sabrent Premium Aluminium USB-3.0 hub has a, almost hidden light bar that shows that is ready to be used. It offers 3 USB 3.0 ports and card slots for TF (micro-SD), SD and CF cards, a combination that is typical of its product type. The base is rubber-covered and is sufficiently non-slip for it to mostly remain where placed despite its relatively low weight - it is actually much heavier than its predecessor which has now been binned. It feels well-made and is solid. The USB ports are fully functional as its its card reader ports (the CF port was not tested as they are not used in any currently used devices - typically older camera models) and a small internal LED illuminates to show that it is 'Live'. It is usually necessary to hold the hub when removing a connected device and that especially applies to micro-SD cards which barely project from the hub's body; it does not have the weight to avoid doing so.The brand is known via prior peripheral purchases which have all performed well and this was chosen in preference to less expensive equivalents that bear one of several anonymous brand-names and where build quality standards and reliability are unknown. Pricing was slightly above average but only by £1 or so.

Purchased this smart looking 3 port USB card reader for MacBook Pro
Purchased this smart looking 3 port USB card reader for MacBook Pro. Worked fine with SD cards for a few jobs. Then just tried to upload using CF card slot and faulty with a bent pin. Been a pro photographer for over 30 years, not had this problem with CF card readers since the early CF card reader years, usually Lexar or Sandisc readers I use. Basically had to copy RAW files in camera to SD card in camera so I could complete job on location. Very annoying and time consuming. Now just outside Amazon return period and have to try and contact seller to resolve. Would still probably use as a 3 port hub and SD card reader but wouldn't feel comfortable relying on the CF ready professionally. Shame as looks good.

Premium look & quality well worth the price
Honestly, I expected basic product in nice alu case, while in the end I've got so much more.Hub's design is exactly what a premium product should look like: extremely precise cuts and much attention to detail, highest quality materials, sturdy and solid look. This hub will look great even with the most expensive computers. A little shame that Sabrent used micro USB 3.0 in it, while USB-B 3.0 would give the socket a bit more mechanical durability in the long run.Thick and a bit stiff connection cable (stable power & less data interference) will attract the enthusiasts while annoy the casuals.Sockets with 45 degree angle are the perfect choice: plugging and unplugging devices is as effortless as possible.Overall: I picked mine to plug into an older type of LED TV and it works like a charm. More than that, it looks so great that two women around the house are calling it an attractive & handy accessory. For me it's enough to call it the perfect hub for any USB device. The price may be discouraging, but it's as usual with premium products - You're paying for one-of-the-kind, great looking design.Protip: there is a problem with getting an original power adapter by Sabrent so if You plan on plugging power hungry devices (big external hard drives etc.), let me help. You're looking for any 5V adapter with minimum 2,7A current and 3,5 x 1,35mm jack plug. Like this one for example: 5V 3A 3.0A 3000mA AC-DC Switching Adaptor Power Supply Plug 3.5mmx1.3mm 3.5x1.35V 3A 3.0A 3000mA AC-DC Switching Adaptor Power Supply Plug 3.5mmx1.3mm 3.5x1.3

Doesn’t work - looks good, feels good but doesn’t work! A light comes on when it is plugged in but only when plugged in 3/4’s of the way. If you push in fully so it is nice and snug the light goes off.Either way no power is passing through the USB ports? I have tried iPhone 6, iPhone 7+ and four different mini USB leads for headphones and keyboards?I tried to connect this item to my MacBookPro - I tried both ports and neither work -The packaging was very pleasing, very tidy but hey, just send a working item in a plain bag - Save trees, reduce plastic and ideally send something that works0/10
