Incredibly helpful, complete and well-organized!
I struggled with trying to plan a road/camping trip through California, as the information found online is just very piecemeal, with reservations possible across a myriad of websites .. very frustrating. This book is excellent -- it's well organized (first by region, then by sub-region and grids, with detailed information on the camping options within each "block" or grid) .. really well organized and complete! Love it! The pages are thin, but it keeps the size & weight manageable .. a nice handy size for reference, jam-packed into ~900 pages ..

Moon guides are the best
My husband is a hiker. I am not so much, but he loves to hike. These books have been super helpful in finding new hiking spots that we can both do together. We can judge what may be too hard for me and what he may want to do on his own. Additionally, when we have friends passing through and they want to explore the best of our area - they have loved using these books as a starting point to determine stops along their journeys. Totally worth every cent.

Really useful! Quite pleased!
Well written and useful in researching campgrounds. Paper is rather thin, not a big problem. Already used it to find and choose half a dozen places...

Good, but only if you have very good eyesight.
I thought this book was very helpful. Lots of good information. The bad: The font is VERY small. They should have included a magnifying glass.I would have to agree with others, maybe instead of having icons for things like "Hot Springs" or "The 5% Club" (which isn't explained) maybe add icons for "RV water," "RV electric," and "RV dump." Yes, I know if you read the text it generally has this, but having icons to help RVers would be appreciated. One other thing that would be nice, is instead of just having an RV symbol, maybe state the length of the longest RV permitted. So many campgrounds only allow RVs ONLY under 20ft. which probably many are NOT. It would be nice to know this length at the top. Finally, some campsites are marked "Best top 10" but it fails to mention which of the 9 categories it is a best of. You must go back to the top 10 list and see where the campsite is listed, which is a pain.

life saver for me
I recently traveled solo (70 y.o. woman) in a chevy tahoe up one side of Calif and down the other. This book was essential I would've never been able to get through the trip without this book. I could check out all the campsites near where I was planning to stop for the night prior to my trip. When circumstances changed I had an easy time locating an alternate site. I wish our highways had camping signs along the way like Iceland does. I wish I could find an equally excellent camping guide for the rest of the SW USA. Please Mr Stienstra, can you get on that? :)
