Must have for all Parents of Down Syndrome kiddos
This series of books is a must have. You will learn and understand developmentally what the next step is for your baby/child. This will help you help your kiddo hit milestones. What a great weapon to have in your arsenal.

Informative and helpful
I love that this book is not only written by an OT but an OT who has a child with Down Syndrome. It is obvious the goals, information, and perspectives and info is very relatable to and for some one who has actually “lived’ and walked advocacy and fine motor skills personally not just a professional “expert”.

Great Resource
This book is such a great resource for a parent or anyone working with a child with down syndrome. The author of the book is an occupational therapist as well as the parent of a daughter with down syndrome. It explains how children with down syndrome learn skills differently, what common OT struggles they may share and many easy to use strategies to integrate OT into playtime as well as everyday activities. The book also lists many household objects that can be recycled into OT games for children (toilet paper rolls, etc.) as well as a "grandma and grandpa list" of appropriate toys to build skills. My daughter is six-years-old and has down syndrome and I would recommend this book to anyone!!!

Very well done, a wealth of helpful information.
I bought this in preparation for my son's last IEP meeting. It has a lot of good ideas for OT goals for a school aged child. It also has a lot of helpful ideas for self help skills for use at home and school. The information on developmental stages and readiness for certain activities is also very helpful. Although I only briefly looked at the information for babies and younger children, it looked to have a lot of great information and ideas for that age group as well, probably even more for that age group, actually.

Great resource
This book is a great resource for all professionals and parents. It provides you with the basics, along with medical background for the reasons why you present components the way you do. I love the levels of development and stages that you look for in development. Again a great resource.

So glad I found this book!
This book is sooo good, so helpful and useful. Not only are there very practicle ideas, this book enables you to understand the stages of development a child needs to go through, how to give help in each stage, and why a child with down syndrom might have certain weakness and difficulties. The last point I think is very important in order to work with a child with down syndrom in a positive climate over a long period of time. The child and I get less frustrated if I know why he/she cannot or eager do certain things.Just incredibly good. Thank you so much for this book!
