I thought I was going to have to go back to the jewelers to have another ring cut off, but I found this and it worked perfectly. I operated it one handed and cut off a ring that’s been stuck on my finger for over 2 years. Once you get the cutting wheel and the ring in the groove as it goes, it is easy as pie to operate, I had my ring cut off in a matter of a few minutes. This works spectacularly and I highly recommend to anyone who has a stubborn ring they simply cannot get off!

JUST Ensure - grip is ok-tight and friction happening between the ring and the cutter ! Do it slowly and patiently. (As per the width 1-3 minutes it will take - GOLD ring)

You should have someone help you when using this tool. I was scheduled for an MRI in six weeks so wearing jewelry is out of the question. My college graduation ring was on my right hand and was loose enough to move a little side to side but wouldn't get over the knuckle to remove it. Plus, the fatty tissue was too much to overcome too. A neighbor turned the little saw wheel incrementally for about 3-4 minutes stopping occasionally when the finger guard slipped up my finger too far. Eventually, it cut through the medium wide gold band. Then, he used pliers to pry the cut band first left then right to allow me enough space to slide the ring up and over my knuckle. I had originally thought this tool was a pipe dream and that perhaps I would have to cancel my MRI if I couldn't find a jeweler somewhere to assist me. I can recommend this cutting tool with a recommendation that someone assist you and not your 84-year-old mother.

I've had my wedding band on for 36 years and let's face it, I"m not the same size I used to be. With arthritis advancing and my fingers changing I decided it was time to remove it. Double bands of relatively thick gold. It works like a scoop nose pliers. You feed the scoop under the ring and while gently squeezing the pliers together, you spin the wheel and its teeth cut a groove into the ring. I had someone else turn the wheel (since of course I only could use one hand) and it took us about 4 minutes to cut through both bands without separating them. (My rings are interlocking style). Then we bent the rings open wider to get them over my knuckle. There's no reason I didn't give a 5-star review except that it just performed as it should without fanfare. No big deal. But boy, did it feel good relieving that pressure from years of those rings being there.

Easily and quickly cuts off rings in the event of a finger injury, when the finger is swelling. Could save your finger if you cannot get to an ER in time. You can fix/replace a ring - not always the finger.

Closed package full of sediment. When I moved the product around I could see that the item is covered in rust. There is no way the person packing the ring cutter could not see they were sending me a defective item. I’m away at this time but will return it as soon as I get home. I’ll try to add pictures if I can to the review. Beware of this merchant.
