Easy to instal but drill one size smaller than instructions say. Looks factory once installed

Have an inexpensive no thrills kayak that was in need of the rod holder. Install was pretty easy with a deadbolt bit. Only challenge was making some room in the styrofoam of the boat.

Very good choice, but I suggest:1. buying GOOP (or other marine adhesive) to make the connections watertight2. cutting off the little flaps connecting the holder pipe and the mount, to ensure the mount is flush with the kayakWill buy again

I installed these on Lifetime/Emotion Guster recreational kayaks, took about one hour total. I agree with the other reviews regarding the included instructions. Just throw them away. For those complaining about the difficulty of install or how the instructions mislead them. This is a modification to your kayak, be prepared to modify both your kayak and the rod holder for your specific application. I drilled a 2 inch whole, then made it oblong with a rotary tool, had to remove some excess plastic tabs on the underside of the rod holder, and finally for fit and finish I used a heat gun to contour the rod holders to the shape of my kayaks hull. I opted for machine nuts and bolts over the included rivets.They look factory installed and seem super sturdy. Will likely order 2 more for the other side of each kayak.

Didn't give a 5-star rating just because there is no gasket. Used silicone and it worked great.
