Well-built and does the job, but very stiff and leaves rough edges.
Pros: - The punch is very sturdy and feels like it will last a long time. - It will punch almost any plastic that will fit, from old credit cards to milkjug plastic and anything in-between. I have not tried thin metal but it would probably work. - Great gift idea for any guitarist or anyone that does lots of crafts projects.Cons: - The punch is very stiff. If you have small or weak hands, you will have difficulty pressing it all the way down. - It leaves kind of rough edges on the punched picks. I use some sandpaper to smooth the edges.

meh.... not really worth the hassle to make a pick!
The strips it came with are ugly and tough to cut through.... in fact this punch can only be used by my hubby if he puts all his weight on it to cut through anything including thinner plastic. The edges bend a little due to the pressure of not getting cut easily and sometimes need filing down as they are rough... Especially with credit cards. It does the job with thinner plastics but only to an extent.

Super neat and perfect for the guitar player in your life. Great way to recycle old credit cards or I.D.s, I'll be buying more after my husband's reaction to this.

Must Have Guitar Pick Maker with Pick Storage Keyring
This is one if the coolest things I now own! I just started playing guitar again and was always losing my picks before. When I saw this pick maker, I had to have it. It's nice having spares already available which I can store in the handy little keyring pouch that is included. This pick maker is super easy to use, kinda opporates similar to a hole punch one would use on paper. I had a little bit of a hard time at first trying to get the thicker material to punch through all the way not realizing it was so thick, but once I figured it out I felt kinda dumb cause it's so easy! I love that I can make different picks in various thicknesses cause each person has a different preferred type of pick that works best for them which is why this pick maker would be great for bands. I make picks for my musician friends as well. Also, depending upon what style of music or which song one plays, it can make a difference in the thickness of your pick sometimes, however, it's still a matter of preference.Go get the most cuts out of the strips, I alternate the direction of how I cut a pick, facing each one the opposite way. I also made a little black drawstring bag to store everything in so I wouldn't have to go hunting for the pick maker or the plastic strips when I needed to use it. Overall, I think this is an excellent tool to have for any musician and definitely recommend that any guitar player have one. Son-In-Law Loves It!
I bought this for my son-in-law. When he opened it he thought it was a stapler and had the best quizzical look on his face. When it finally dawned on him what it REALLY was, he thought it was the best thing since sliced cheese! I will say that the plastic that came with it had a rough edge when punched out, at least the green one did. But when he tried it on an old gift card, it punched out perfectly. He was delighted with this and thought it was a really ingenious idea. I am delighted that my son-in-law thinks I find ingenious gifts. Now the only issue I have is that from now on, I can't give him less than stellar gifts, or he'll know I'm not as brilliant as he now thinks me.I bought this item at a discount in exchange for an honest review.

This was a random purchase for me. I'm always losing my guitar picks, so I thought it would be cool to be able to make my own out of different plastics. The plastics that came with the puncher were nice. You could customize them with acrylic paints too if you wanted. The only thing is that when you use the puncher you can sometimes see some cracks in the plastic of the pick it created(you couldn't feel it, it was just under the plastic). I didn't mind it though because it gave it a weathered look.I would have given this 5/5, but the puncher was super hard to use. I had to basically put all my weight on it to get it to punch through the plastic. Hurt my wrist a little bit. But then again, you are punching through plastic, so makes sense that it was a little difficult.***I received this product at a discount in exchange for a review***

Sturdy and solid product - great price
Great item for the price. The quality of the pick maker itself is quite good. It's sturdy and stands up to some abuse. The picks came out in varying degrees of quality which seemed to be related to the plastic sheets versus the punch machine. Some picks were perfect yet others had sharp, frayed edges. The key chain pick holder is a perfect compliment to this item.

Must have if you are a guitarist
Bought this for my son. He goes thru lots of guitar pics so I thought this would be perfect for him. I haven't had a chance to give them to him yet but I'm sure he will get lots and lots of use out of this machine. It's a nice quality and looks well built.
