A Time Traveller
All the stories and their characters in their own different time periods are captivating. Then bringing them all together through such an unlikely piece of equipment as a sewing machine, is genius, and totally fascinating. Loved it.

Follows Generations
I liked the historical progression. It skipped around a lot and though connections could be made, not all were immediately obvious to infer. I liked the ending.

Good story.
Print font changed so as to be irritating throughout the read. Good story, font changes made it awkward to read at times.

Utterly charming read
I read this set of intertwined tales cover to cover in just a couple of days, something I’ve not done with a book in over a decade. The characters were very believable and engaging and you just wanted to keep finding out more about their lives. As it was set largely in my home town of Edinburgh, I could imagine easily the different domestic settings and locations and it brought back memories of my Mum’s aunt with her Singer sewing machine. I really loved this book and was quite emotional when I came to finish it…. I look forward to reading more from this author.
