Looks aesthetically, and I love how it fits inside the house

I was worried that it wouldn’t fit over where my old thermostat’s wall plate was and it fit perfectly. The aluminum finish also ties almost perfectly with the brushed stainless thermostat. No complaints here. Looks great!

Looks way better than the plate that comes with the Nest. Gives it a very polished and clean look. Would definitely purchase again. Nice, solid metal.

It looks great on the wall and color matches. So it’s a great addition to complete the look.Pros- Easy to install- Looks fantasticCons- Expensive for a single piece of metal- No mounting hardware included- Requires vertical mounting (using the 2 vertical screw holes to mount to drywall)Using the vertical mounts as indicated may cause you to put a screw where your wires are run. For users I’d suggest making sure you select shallow screws and snake a camera to verify you won’t hit anything. Prep the wall first by sanding/painting surface irregularities out. Noting that this should be perfectly flush against the wall. Finally, including some mounting hardware such as some screws would make it a better value.

Update! So after my initial review I thought I'd give this another go now the living room has been redecorated and I have to echo previous reviews.... the edges on this are razor sharp!!! Yes the quality of the finish appears to be good... but then its labor cut metal so the finish would 'look' good as the edges would be very crisp. I would argue that a good finish in this case would be to remove the razor sharp edges, particularly as its on show! If your hand, shoulder or any other body part were to slip up the wall and onto/along the edge of the plate you will cut yourself! For that reason I am dropping my review to 1 star and I would advise anyone still intending to purchase to remove the sharp edge before fitting!When I originally ordered this I thought that the back of the thermostat sat inside this. It was only after I'd ordered that I realised it didn't and that it simply sits behind the thermostat. If the thermostat had sat inside - so that it hid the black plastic of the base some - i potentially would have left it fitted.If you have a back box or mess to hide from an old thermostat then this would do the job of hiding it. If like me you have no holes to hide then I would suggest this is too big, doesn't hide the plastic rear mount and detracts from the sleek appearance of the thermostat.I would also make sure your wall is flat around your thermostat. If it isn't then this will not sit flush against the wall (as somebody else found out in a previous review). Probably not a problem if you live in a newer house but certainly worth checking first if you live in an older property.
