Excellent Quality NAC Supplement
I’ve been taking Nutricost N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (600mg) for a few months now, and I’m really impressed with the quality and consistency. The capsules are easy to swallow and don’t have a strong odor or aftertaste, which I’ve noticed with some other NAC brands.I mainly use NAC for immune support, detox, and overall wellness, and I’ve definitely noticed improvements in my energy and recovery. It’s also reassuring to know that NAC is a precursor to glutathione, one of the body’s most important antioxidants.Another big plus is that Nutricost provides a good dose per capsule (600mg), so I only need one per day instead of multiple pills. The price point is very reasonable for the amount you get, especially compared to other brands that are either lower in dose or more expensive. The packaging is straightforward and the product feels clean and reliable. I also appreciate that Nutricost is transparent about their ingredients, with no unnecessary fillers.

Surprisingly Effective – Helped with Nail Picking Habit
I started taking Nutricost N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC) after reading about its benefits, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the results. The capsules are easy to take, and the dosage of 600mg feels just right for daily use. What really stood out for me is that it has noticeably helped me with a lifelong habit of picking at my fingernails. Since starting this supplement, the urge has decreased significantly, and I’ve been able to let my nails grow out healthier than they have in years.Beyond that unexpected benefit, I like that this product is non-GMO, gluten-free, and comes in a generous 180-capsule bottle, which makes it a great value. It’s also reassuring that Nutricost is a brand I trust for quality supplements. If you’re looking into NAC for its health benefits—or even if you struggle with habits like nail picking—this is definitely worth trying.

Science Backed Antioxidant
Key takeaways: Limits alcohol-induced liver damage (if taken before drinking); is a powerful antioxidant; is great for acne; shown promise in reducing ADHD medication toxicity; promising in nicotine (and other stimulant based) addiction treatment. In terms of the product (not the vitamin itself), I find that this is well packaged and is great value for money. As others have said, there is a smell. However, this is not secreted when sweating so you won't smell like it. Besides, the smell is not that bad so just swallow it quickly. Now for the nerds. On the science front, I like to use this product due to its scientifically backed benefits (and promising applications). Below are some examples. For Acne. In a single-blind placebo study (human trial), NAC caused a 50% reduction in total lesion counts in acne patients after supplementing 1200 mg/day orally for 8 weeks. For alcohol consumption. Pretreatment (30 minutes) of NAC in rodents given alcohol appears to reduce liver damage while giving NAC after alcohol (four hours) may aggravate the damage induced by alcohol. One other study assessing mitochondrial structure of liver tissue in alcoholic rodents found that administration of NAC seemed to prevent the hormetic response to alcohol while not necessarily preventing other forms of damage to mitochondria; this observation occurred alongside the standard reduction in oxidative damage. For Nicotine Addiction. In one study, subjects addicted to nicotine given 2,400mg N-acetylcysteine for four weeks relative to placebo, supplementation tended to reduce the frequency of cigarettes smoked after two weeks of supplementation. These findings come from an objective scientific review online journal. You can find more on NAC on a website called "Examine".Feel free to message me or comment if you have any questions about the science aspect!

Don't let the smell put you off ...
The smell...omg , rotten eggs, Sulphur smell so strong. I immediately checked the expiry date which was 3/2028, so I Googled whether NAC should smell this way and apparently it does due to Sulphur content. What helped me was to remove the capsule from the bottle and wait 2 to 5 mins before swallowing. Take it with coffee or something else other than water. Now, i place the capsule in my daily pill box ahead of time. I've bought several products from Nutricost and they are great. Their Quercitin is amazing and really works for HIT.

Exceeding expectations.
Noticed lack of swelling in hands in first couple of days. After a week my pain was noticeably less and my energy was up. I do find it best to take at the start of my day. It did increase urination at first and caused slight dehydration so drink plenty of water.

great supplement for inflammation
we have been buying this exact NAC for years! We give it to our daughter who is autistic and has Hashimoto's. we use it to help her body build up antioxidants and decrease inflammation. we have been using this for over 5 years everyday. it has clean ingredients and there isn't a taste when she has to swallow it. it does have a smell in the bottle, but it isn't tasted when swallowed.
