Lightweight Portable but Delivers Consistent Sound Quality
This is after using it for more than a year now. Considerably very much lightweight but produces consistently FM Radio Listening experience and better sound quality as MP-3 player from micro SD cards. Much better than what I had expected at the time of ordering. Once charged plays for days without recharging, where USB charging is an added advantage. Reliable Quality Product!

Nice radio, small size with big sound. Easy to use and easy to record or play mp3. I like the long lasting rechargeable battery. I camp frequently and this helps with some music and entertainment.

The Retekess V115P is a feature filled little radio with a very good speaker for its size. I don’t notice much difference between it and a Sony desktop receiver I have. Performance is mixed. I find that FM and weather band are very good. AM is fine for local stations, but this is definitely not a DX machine. Some distant stations that I routinely get at night on some other radios just aren’t there. SW performance is similar. Strong stations come in well, but the radio really struggles on some weaker ones that I am used to hearing. The radio has a jack for an external antenna that may help with this, but I haven’t tried it. I have not tried longwave, since we have no LW stations, nor the Bluetooth reception or the play and record functions using a micro SD card (up to 32 GB). I am pleased to see that it’s possible to record both voice and radio. The manual is very thorough and well written. Also, customer service is superb. I emailed Retekess with a question about accessing stations that have been saved with an ATS scan and received a very helpful reply within only about two hours. Am I glad I have this radio? Yes. It’s great for local listening and weather, and I can see a need for some of its special features. Update: Since writing my initial review I found I could not get the sleep function to work. Customer service helped me by explaining that the band button needs to be pressed as a last step, something not mentioned in the manual. The sleep function then starts again each time the radio is turned on until the number of minutes to play is reset to 0. There is no sleep function indicator in the display.

I approached the Retekess V115P with the goal of evaluating it the same way I assess other compact radios, and it consistently performed above expectations. For a small unit, it delivers an impressive combination of reception quality, usability and feature depth that makes it stand out in its price bracket. Reception and Tuning: Across AM, FM, SW and WB, the V115P maintained stable tuning and strong signal acquisition. Shortwave performance was especially surprising, pulling in multiple stations with clarity even in areas where competing units struggle. Band switching is fast and the digital tuning is accurate. Audio Quality: The onboard speaker is crisp and clear, with more volume than the size suggests. Dialogue and music are both well-balanced. The headphone output is clean and free from background hiss, which is a rare trait in smaller radios. User Experience: The interface is intuitive. The display is bright and easy to read in multiple lighting environments. Buttons are responsive, clearly labeled and logically placed. Saving and navigating presets takes seconds. It’s a device that anyone can operate without a learning curve. Build and Design: Despite being lightweight and portable, it feels durable. The antenna extends smoothly and holds position well. The overall construction gives confidence that it will hold up to daily use, travel or emergency kits. Battery Performance: Battery life is solid for continuous listening and recharge times are reasonable. Power retention is good even when unused for stretches of time. Additional Features: This model is feature-rich, offering recording capability, a TF card slot, AUX input, a flashlight, sleep timer and alarm. All added features function as intended and are more refined than what I normally see at this size and price point. Use Cases: Ideal for work, commuting, outdoor use, emergency preparedness or anyone who wants a highly portable radio with a surprising amount of capability. Overall Impression: This is the second Retekess radio I’ve purchased recently and both have delivered consistent performance and value. If the rest of the product line maintains this level of quality, I will be buying more of these as gifts for family. The V115P is absolutely worth recommending.

I have only been able to use the AM and FM part but that is ok I can try to test it at work which is several floors up and see if the other bands work better. The FM sounds amazing considering just one speaker. Battery life is good I have not had to charge it since getting it. I have used the weather band once but found that it depended on where I was in the house as to if I could pick up anything. I like the lit display and small size. I have also found that if around a cellphone there is a good bit of interferance so if it does not work well try to move it away like about 3 feet away

So far it works good. The sound is clear. One complabin is that the sound vloume is too high, I set it at lever one, the lowest level, in my office to listen to radio and music, it is still very loud. The first time operation is a little complex, once is is set, eveything is ok.
