PDA by Pdaers: From Anxiety to Avoidance and Masking to Meltdowns

An insight into PDA profile
Insightful text, written in an ethnographic form very helpful for conducting research on secondary data as well as learning from the experience of PDAers rather than relying on traditional and mainstream information. It also contains lots of useful tips to support children with a pda profile. Not the classic manual that lists symptoms but lived and embodied accounts of PDAers which is really helpful to reflect upon brain differences. Very recommended.

Not what I thought
I was new to learning what pda was. This book was great in helping you learn and understand what it is. What it looks like and hear from those who have it what it's like to have it. The only thing and sort of big was it didn't tell me as a parent how do I deal w this. How do I help my kiddo deal w this.

The best I've found and boy have I been looking!
with a child who is awaiting educational statements to be completed about degree of autism this book really helped. I'd not heard of PDA - I just reckoned my child was obnoxious and manipulative and lied to me for fun - until I read this and the scales fell (mostly) from my eyes. Straightforward - no self-pity - well written - real understanding - from late teenager upwards. Most of the other books I bought are for much younger kids and are condescending - this just isn't - its really a great help

Very insightful. An easy read and I relate with so much of the content, in the first few chapters anyway. Unfortunately, my PDA is making it very difficult for me to finish the book.
