Amazing
I’m hooked on the story instantly. I never read these when I was a kid when the books came out. These came out the same time Percy Jackson did so at the time that’s what I read. I am glad I found this series now!

A Fantastic Retelling of James Clavell's Shogun
When I first saw these books in highschool, I knew right away that I would love them. I was right. These books are an honorable and respectful retelling of "Shogun" while still being fresh and new. I keep coming to the conclusion that Chris Bradford's "Young Samurai" series is a cross of "Shogun" and J.K Rowling's "Harry Potter"; hold the magic.Great for young teens and older.

The Samurai warrior must uphold the principles of; rectitude, courage, benevolence, respect, honesty, loyalty, and honour. Learn about the Samurai and life in feudal Japan.Young Samuri - The Way of the Warrior - is the first part in an 8 book series that can be purchased in one bundle ].Fundamentally a great story full of action and adventure. It is true that I immediately recalled , but this is a much shorter and easier book to follow.Probably a good idea to read the back pages with some helpful pronunciation tips because there are a few Japanese words throughout the story.Other great books for young adults with plenty of action include: and .

If you loved the Shogun TV show, you'll love this!
I picked this book up in a library due to my strong interest in Japanese history, a few years later and I have the full collection sitting proudly in the centre of my book shelf.Without giving away too much, a young British sailor gets stuck in Japan and is taken in by a Samurai and the series follows Jack's story as he trains in the way of the Samurai and eventually strives to return home to his mother and sister. The writing style is ultimately aimed at a younger audience and therefore is not too graphic (although at times can be quite dark in a good sort of way) nor is it a difficult read. However, the story is incredibly rich and vibrant throughout the whole series and is full of interesting characters meaning this is not a problem at all.I would thoroughly recommend this to everybody.
