This item is great for helping getting rid of stubborn wood chip from walls. The process in which we followed is quite simple.First, you take the Paper Tiger and you scratch the life from the walls with the rotating blades on each end. You need to make sure you cover as much surface area as possible. Once you've done that it should look like an army of 80 cats had their way with it, this is good. After the attack you want to take a sponge and dunk it in a pale of hot water and fairy liquid and soak over the area that you scored. Depending on how stubborn the wood chip is, you should be able to tackle it immediately with a scraper, if not, wait 10 minutes. We used one that had a blade on the edge of it and instead of taking a dreaded 6 day period to get rid of a butt-tonne of woodchipped wallpaper we were done and ready for plastering in 2. Repeat the process on sections of the wall.

You do not need a lot of pressure for this to work
Using slight pressure just roll over the wallpaper at your normal arms length do not stretch. Steadily move to the right drop down width of tool move to the left just keep do the this until you've finished. Other reviews state to hard to use wheels breaking that is due to using too much pressure and or using it like a scrubbing brush no need for this.Once finished like all tools clean it remove all paper and paint bits. I go a bit further and give all the wheels a little spray with WD40 or any other penetrating oil. All ready to use next time it could be another year.

Amazingly effective 'must have' for stripping woodchip especially!
This item made a huge difference to removing painted woodchip wallpaper with a steam stripper. It is easy to use and doesn't need force to do a good job. Apply it with a rotary movement over the wallpaper. After two rooms the sharpness was undiminshed. No damage to the wall itself at all. I used it with both plasterboard and concrete rendered walls.I also used the [Screwfix] Energer ENB484STM 2000W Wallpaper Stripper and the combination of these two items had my woodchip paper falling off the walls. I have no links at all with Screwfix or Energer [or zizzner] I just did my research! I WON'T tell you how I made a small steamer head for a tight strip between doorframe and wall using a modified square tinfoil dish as it is very dangerous so really don't do it!!! But should you already be heading in that direction PLEASE use waterproof gardening gloves with thick wool gloves inside to insulate your hands, long sleeved waterproof coat with thick woolies under - yes even in a heatwave - and keep tight control over the hose end as it is very DANGEROUS but very effective. Nanny will wallop me for that one, no doubt.

Avoid if you need to remove old wallpaper
I bought it as a last resort to see if it can help with a removal of a few layers of old wallpaper. While there were not too many (3 layers as far as I can tell) the oldest (probably >30 years) kinda integrated with the wall I think. As such it was really hard to remove using a traditional "sponge and putty knife" method that I successfully used in the past. After reading about this gizmo I gave it a go. At first, its claws did the job quite well and perforated a top layer of wallpaper quite nicely, so a steamer I got could penetrate it better, but it is nowhere as efficient as one would hope. The claws collect residue pretty quickly and you end up with each of them fully covered in a gooey wallpaper "tyre". At that stage it becomes a roller and I stopped using it - didn't bother to clean it as the claws are supersharp. In the end I had to hire professional wallpaper removal crew. They kinda laughed when I've shown them the tool and said that they tried it before and they believe in only one way to remove any "difficult" wallpaper: a very sharp knife, and... many man hours. And so they did that heavy work and the flat is now ready for further refurbishment. I wouldn't recommend purchasing it for any work that has to do with a wallpaper that is older than a few years. And for these, a sponge and a putty knife may be enough.

It works well if you use it properly
I read the poor reviews on this but bought it anyway. The secret is to let the tool do the work. Dont put pressure on it just roll it over the surface. Where people say it breaks I am sure they a pushing hard on it. It plastic, it will break in that situation. The best way I found to use it was score the wall, soak the wall 2 or three times with a few minutes in between each soaking then score the wall again and soak again. Seems a faff but the paper will just peel off. If the paper is painted its a bit more effort I am afraid.
