Better than expected
I recently purchased a stand up sand blaster from Princess Auto. Could not get the gun to work. After reading reviews thought I would try this product as the price was reasonable. Product arrived on time and worked great. To note, I have a smaller shop air compressor (3HP 6.5 CFM). I was able to sand blast clean and old rusty wrench in no time...very happy so far.

Buena opcion
La calidad de los componentes en relacion con el precio pagado me dejaron muy satisfecho, estuve analizando otras opciones antes de comprar, pero eran mucho mas costosas.

Suprisingly Well Made - Versatile
This gun is suprisingly well made and just plain works. The low cost made me anticipate a lower quality tool that I thought I'd use once or twice and then discard, scrap or replace. But it's working and lasting just great. I've blown sifted beach sand, HDepot play sand, HFreight coal slag and Baking Soda through it. It's never choked or plugged. To feed media into the thing I first just set the pickup tube into the bag of sand. I found that wanted to draw the tube down to the bottom of the bag. As some others have noted, if the TOP of the pickup tube becomes "submerged" in the blast media, it won't suck up the stuff appropriately. My simple fix was to set the thing in a 5 gal bucket, bottom of the tube in the "corner" of the bucket. Then fill with a few inches of blast media. That way the bottom of the tube is always "above ground" and it can't get sucked hard against the plastic bottom (since it's at an angle).A bag of sand or any media will last an unbelievably long time. The gun uses suprizingly little media to do the job. I added a cheap valve and gauge from Freight By The Bay right at the base of the gun to control the air pressure. Total cost of that addition was under ten bucks. Bag of coal slag media from the same place was nine bucks before coupon.I've only used relatively fine media. Blasting steel bumpers and car panels cleans every bit of paint, rust etc very quickly with no damage to the steel. Leaves it with a very even matte finish. A little too smooth for direct prime and paint, I'd still rough it up with whatever grade abrasive paper you'd normally use prior to painting. But this thing sure does eliminate a lot of that silly wire wheel nonsense to get the old paint off. Plus it gets in all the corners and tight spots you can't do with a wire brush.I'm blastin' stuff I never thought of. Car parts, stucco, garden rocks, wood.I think you could even use it wet, to blow detergent or solvent. Just submerge the entire pickup tube in the liquid. I haven't tried that but the documentation suggests you can.

Works well but need more time with it to have a thorough review
Used only a couple times but works well. Adjusting the intake tube to get the walnut shells can be a pain but I am sure a little thought and constructing something as to feeding it will solve that. Will have to try blaster again with sand grit as it did not work on removing tarnish on metal.

Great product!
After reading the reviews I ordered the Campbell Hausfeld AT1226. Compared to other brands, CH actually provides a manual that has a parts list in case something wears out or breaks. I keep my tools for years, so being able to buy replacement parts is a plus. The hook to hang the gun is really handy and the gun has a durable black finish. The best feature is you can clear the nozzle without needing tools by unscrewing the retainer and clearing the intake port. Other guns make you use a allen wrench-more parts to lose and a pain when time is money.Assembly was easy, but heed to the moisture warning as seen in other reviews. You have to do your best to have dry air. I put a water separator on my 60 gallon Campbell Hausfeld compressor and an in line filter on the blasting gun. This compressor had no problem keeping up to the CFM required to run the sandblaster, but a lot of air meant moisture problems. It was humid out when I used it, so a little patience was required to clear the intake orifice from time to time. Hot air condenses as it travels down the hose, so a good water trap or filter at the gun should definitely be a consideration. I used the sandblaster with 80 grit glass beads to clean up a trailer hitch. Did a great job-so much easier than sanding by hand. Think about safety, too. Purchase or borrow a sandblasting hood and some heavy-duty elbow length rubber gloves. The media gets everywhere, so a few bites from a ricocheting glass bead spray will remind you to suit up!As always, Amazon can't be beat for price and delivery. For under twenty bucks with free shipping, this was a great opportunity to try a new tool that will last for years. If your just getting into sandblasting this is a great product to start out with before spending big bucks on a pressurized tank sandblaster.
