A synthetic plant hormone that works against gibberellic acid. . The most common application is spraying at a dilution rate of 500 to 1500ppm (parts per million) It should not be used within three weeks of flowering as it may reduce flower size. Inhibition of growth rates lasts for two to three weeks, so repeat applications may be needed. Spraying in the early morning or any time when the humidity is high is best as it keeps the Chlormequat Chloride in solution longer. Dissolves in water. . For storage as with all plant hormones keeping it cold will help to preserve it. I keep mine in the freezer. It is currently mostly used on cotton and grapes in the US. In Europe it used on a wide range of crops.
