It’s not too dark. So one line isn’t enough, probably a 4-5 lines to get the dark shade.

Like all good old school eyeliners, I waft it over a flame to use it melted when I want a more liquid, retro look and the formula works beautifully for that; I'm too clumsy for liquid formulas. Once the pencil hardens again it can still be used for a softer look. Many modern formulas are ruined once you melt it and you have to keep melting it after that. Black as night. Didn't smudge on me even though the skin around my eyes can get oily over the course of a day. Also -- as I promised my late rescue beagle -- I'm oath-bound to use only cruelty free products. This delivers.

I have more gray shade than dark hair/brows these days. This is a perfect shade that gives my eyes definition and highlights without being too dark for day to day wear.

Great eye pencil- the right level of “firmness” as in it doesn’t scratch you, but also doesn’t break easily. Stays in place well and lasts ages! Bargain!
