Not Meant for Skinny Kids
My son is about to outgrow his size 3 O'Neill reactor shorty, so I ordered this in size 4 since it is cheaper. It was no taller than his old one, but maybe a little wider in the leg. I exchanged it for a 6 for height. The 6 had a little room to grow for height but is baggy and will do no good. For a more filled out kid it would probably work. It appears to be good quality (similar to his O'Neill one). The size chart on the tag is slightly different than that shown in Amazon's description - with size 4 starting at 3'7" instead of 3'9". The size charts for O'Neill and NeoSport are pretty similar, but I am switching back to O'Neill for a better fit on my skinny kid (3'8.5", 44 pounds).

Not for skinny children!
I would assume that this would work fine for children who are not too skinny. My daughter is 4Ft and only 42 lbs. As you can imagine, it is pretty hard to find clothes let alone a wet suit that should be a tight fit on her. I tried the size 4 first and it was skinny enough but too short so her arms and shoulders were restricted. Then I tried the size 6 and the length was great but way too loose to keep any heat in the suit for her to swim around.I had to end up returning both sizes and went with the O'Neill Reactor and that seems to do the job. I ended up getting her a size 6. It is fit enough with just a bit of play so she has some room to still grow into it.If you found my review helpful, please hit the helpful button!

We initially loved this suit (at the beginning there was a strong smell which we didn't mind), but within a few wears, it started coming apart.I bought 2 sizes up hoping my child can use it for a couple summers, but it hasn't even lasted for a couple months before pieces of the inside started loosing and we would find them on the floor. It works well for warmth, just not as long lasting :(We also only lightly hand washed it too.

We got these because we have two little boys who just freeze when in the pool for any length of time. The hope was they would keep them warm so we could swim longer. When we got them, the quality seemed good. The thickness was enough to be warm but not compromising freedom of movement. They were slightly big for my boys (but my kids are very skinny - 7 years old and only 42 lbs and 4 years and 38 lbs). When we went to have the kids try them on the zipper at the very top of the mock neck bothered them a LOT. It was scratchy and uncomfortable (even after me adjusting it about a hundred times). If the kid doesn't feel good in it - they aren't going to wear them no matter what. Sadly we had to return (also bummer because I thought it was a free return and it was not - I moved the review to 1 star for that).

Keeps him warm!
Tight around the neck but my (26lb, skinny) 2.5 year old says it is comfortable. Keeps him warm during swim lessons. Ordered a 2 and he still has room to grow. I usually order up, but the size chart worked well for us.

Great wetsuit for the value
Great wetsuit for the value. Look at the sizing chart closely. We ordered off that and it fit perfect. My daughter is on the smaller side and even though we live in FL was getting chilly while swimming. This gives her the extra layer to help regulate her body temperature. We have had this product for 6 months and used it daily and it is still holding up great. We would certainly recommend this to keep their litlte one warm while swimming, it's definitly not the thickest suit so it woudln't be great in cold water. Take a look at the thickness and do a quick google search to find the best thickness for you! Tha'ts what I did!

Very Happy
Bought 2 of these for my boys for an upcoming snorkeling trip in January, but one of them has worn his to the indoor pool as the water is so cold (and he is so skinny) it makes him turn blue and shiver after just a short time. He was finally able to swim for over an hour without turning colors! I usually have to pull him out and warm him up after 30 minutes for fear of hypothermia, but this wetsuit allowed him to maintain a good body temp until we were all ready to go home. I'm very happy with this product so far and will purchase larger sizes as he grows. As for sizing, I think the size chart from Neosport was close, but we needed to order up a size because of long torsos. According to the chart, my small 9 year old was in the middle of the height range for size 6 and upper end of weight range for size 6. My 6 year old was in the middle of the height for size 4 and low end of weight for size 6. I got them both a size 6. My 6 year old has a long torso so I figured the extra length would be good for him. Size 6 fit him great. It was too small in the torso for my 9 year old though. We exchanged it for size 8 and it fits nicely. I would recommend going by your child's weight to determine sizing. If your child is at the upper end of the weight range, then size up.

Your kid will like it - and you will too
This suit works well for my four-year-old son, who is slightly tall but skinny for his age. Before, he turned into an ice cube within 20-25 minutes in normal (81 degree) pool water, but now he lasts about twice as long, and even longer in warm air temperatures and/or warmer water. It is well made and comfortable. As to sizing, we have found that the official sizing chart runs a bit small, so if in doubt, get the larger size. The styling is sharp, and my son likes wearing it. I have done a lot of research and we have tried several other products, and this suit is definitely the best value available - and as far as I can tell, simply the best product of its kind on the market.
