I don't have a macbook pro 16 inch so I cannot vouch that it will work. However, the description states it's a "Protector Skin Cover for MacBook Pro 16" Space Grey (2019 MacBook). Not sure waht you mean by "the clips worry me." It's basically a cover; there are no clips.
