Great hoist, easy install and use
This is a great hoist for the money. I bought it to lift the hard top from my jeep without the help of my wife. It works perfectly for that. I installed it in the rafters of my garage, and ran the cable and remote thru a pvc pipe placed in the ceiling. I installed an electric outlet nearby, though it can be plugged into an extension cord if needed. Perfect. The cable and remote are long enough I can reach it though the hoist is fixed to the rafters above my garage ceiling. I can easily control it with one hand, while guiding the load with the other hand. Highly recommend for light to med duty lifting.

Great deer hoist
Bought for a deer hoist in my garage. Was inexpensive and works great. For my application i feel it will last a very long time (minimal use per year) Appears well built and came with additional straps , cord on remote was a good length for my garage (9' ceilings) I mounted sliding door rollers by drilling through brackets that come with winch. Works great.

Works good but the Emergency shut off switch on mine is hard to turn back on if gets bumped off.
Worth the money. I am using it to hoist roofing materials up a ladder (lots of youtube videos showing how to do it with small hoist). The only problem I have had was with the EMERGENCY SHUT OFF SWITCH. It can bump against something and of course the thing won't work until you pull out the switch. The problem it that mine is very, very hard to pull back out. You have to rotate the red knob in the directions of the arrow, but it can still take me a while to get it back out enough to run.Today i went to use it, and the hoist just "chattered" (odd buzzing sound) but no movement. I tried the remedy another reviewer mentioned about the stop switch issue. (he posted a photo of a fix with a screwdriver to the switch issue). Well that wasn't it.It turned out to be the emergency (red knob) shut off switch, apparently partially depressed. In the past the emergency switch would completely shut it off, but now it was like partial voltage or something, and it would chatter but not run. I fought with the emergency switch for about 30 seconds, rotating and pulling out, and then it worked smoothly. Odd, the knob didn't seem to pull out any farther visually, but it fixed it.Like any of these hoist, you must let ALL of the line out, and carefully roll it in under light tension (hands with gloves) and lay the cable in a very neat coil with no open gaps or funky overlaps, so the next winding has something smooth to run on or it will bend the cable going over uneven surfaces. If you let all the tension off the cable, it will loosen on the spool and turn to chaos. Not a fault of this hoist, that is what they all do, on a jeep, or whatever. So that is a maintenance piece, to run the line all the way out and carefully place it as it runs back in, and leave a small 5 lb weight or whatever to keep some tension on the line when not in use. it is a good hoist for the money. Does what it is supposed to.

Used to lift 200lb water heaters into and out of my attic!
The media could not be loaded. I was able single-handedly to drop 2-each (very heavy) water heaters out of my attic and then lift two new units into the attic to replace them. I actually bought two of these hoist units since our attic had an awkward step up so that there was actually two levels of lift required. In all, the units worked flawlessly and were easy to install onto the rafters in the attic using a heavy round pipe spanning between two rafters (i.e. I drilled 1-1/4" holes into the two adjacent joists and then used sleeves to hold pipe on opposite sides.

No backup or service help for this tool.
Purchased on December 9, 2017. Used once to hoist 50# lawnmower to loft storage. Worked perfect. I loved it. Left the hoist in my new, unheated garage over winter. On May 3, 2018 went to use it for second time to lower lawnmower from loft storage. Hoist would lower cable, but would not rewind to lift. Looked for hours through Amazon website and Kaixun website. No suggestions for service help. Nothing in the user manual to provide guidance. This piece of equipment went from 5-star to less than 1-star. Is it the tool or is it the backup support? I would appreciate some help to make this tool work.Whoa! I was a little premature on the above comment. Turns out the safety switch function had engaged. Tool is fine - I love it again. Service and communication still suck.

Does the job!!!
Nicely priced hoist perfect for hauling heavy items up through an attic ladder. Easily mounted on a 1 1/2 inch black pipe placed between two joists above the ladder opening. Only challenge is finding or making a cargo net easily placed for lifting. Still having some difficulty with that. A really great way for older guys to still load heavier things into the attic.

Hoist does the job...customer service is even better!
I installed my hoist in my garage and used it once or twice a month. Last week, for some reason the 'UP' toggle stopped working and the cable would not retract. I contacted the seller, they sent a couple troubleshooting ideas...sadly those did not resolve the issue, so they sent out a new hoist. Just received it today. Great customer service is rare these days...nice surprise!

Not much more expensive than a manual hoist, works great.
Good product for the price. I put this on the ceiling of a shed I build that has a storage loft. I decided that lifting big heavy boxes up a ladder was not a good idea. This device is not much more expensive than a manual hoist, and works great. I like how the yellow control box looks like commercial hoists in factories and shops. I mounted a 1" x 1" x 4' steel tube to the ceiling so I can slide the hoist closer or further to the front of the loft, to accommodate smaller and larger objects being lifted. It's working better than I anticipated.
