I bought these for myself because I wanted simple and elegant fresh water pearl earrings. While the pearls are nice, after a year the metal part snapped in half :( I've held onto them hoping I can find someone who makes jewelry to make a new pair of earrings with the pearls.I also didn't wear them all the time, maybe twice a month. So I guess If you're only expecting to wear them a handful of times then the cost is worth the money. Not great as a gift though because they might break on the person. :/

Oh my, these earrings. I bought this pair almost three years ago and lost one. I was thrilled to find they were still being sold and immediately ordered a new pair. These are my absolute favorite pearl earrings. I have thick lobes and these hang perfectly (sometimes I have trouble with this depending on style). The pearls are high quality and this second pair have even larger pearls which was a wonderful surprise. I have sensitive ears and have no irritation with these. They are a good investment and worth every penny - you won't be disappointed.
