clear full tone
I got a pair of Seismic Audio wedge monitors off CL and they were fine enough but after about 6 months one of them started to snap-crackle-pop and suffer volume drops. After cleaning both of them, most of the issues subsided, but not all. So, I got a pair of these to replace the stock SM12's. Aside from no longer having any crackling nor static, the clarity of the signal is very pure. I have a high-pass filter running so the very low end is not routed into the speakers, but even still the low and low-mid presence is significant, and much greater than the stock SM12's had. The mid-range is not lost, however. Quite the contrary, there is clarity up through upper mid's. The SM12 wedge has a tweeter horn and I don't know where the cross-over frequency is so I don't know where the 12" speaker no longer gets signal. I will say that everything I can definitively source from this speaker sounds incredible. Definitely recommend.Seller-related, I ordered these through GearNuts. The non-Amazon shipper delivered to the wrong address and GearNuts was highly responsive throughout the package recovery effort. New favorite seller.

Have a Fender Baseman 10 from the early 70's that I cut down from a 4-10 to a 2-10. This amp is inexplicably not collectable, so I didn't mind hacking it. The circuit is more Blackface than anything else from the era, so I didn't want to screw that up. Planned to use 10516 drivers but they are discontinued. Lesson: don't wait. 2nd option was some other 10" 16 ohm guitar speaker. None that I considered worthy, so sound reinforcement drivers were the available pool. Keep in mind I didn't have room for 12's after the hack-job, so it would have to be 10's. Delta10B was always on the list for other projects, so I gave them a try... and the angels sang...Ahhhhhhhhhh! Great range, like send the bass knob to zero for guitar. Clean Fender goodness in abundance. Pedals. Sure, why not "Oh,you could have replaced the output transformer to match a pair of (ohm drivers". Tried that; it was too perfect. Back to the Fender output trans and now the D10B's. Yup, that's the ticket. Think old ELectovoice. Bet these D10B's are monsters in their intended sound reinforcement role.
