FABULOUS!! Life changing for a member of my family. AND, this worked better than the prescription methylfolate. The LE is bound to a glucosamine while the Rx is bound to calcium. I do not understand why this works better than the Rx but perhaps the calcium vs. glucosamine is the reason. If you have the genetic inability to absorb folic acid this is THE answer. I am shocked at how quickly my family members life changed as a result of this supplement. She started by taking 15 a day (to make it equivalent to the Rx) and within a day or two I couldn't believe the difference. Within a week she was a new person! It was unbelievable!! Then she ran out of the supplement....day one she could not walk easily, day two she could not speak properly or understand those around her, day 3 she could hardly move. She ran out and filled the Rx as she could not find this product in her small town. She anxiously took the Rx waiting for the same miracle to occur. Day 1, not much improved, day 2 - minor improvements, day 3 - daunting realization that the LE product is better than the Rx, day 4 - overnighted the LE product to her home, day 5 - took both the supplement and Rx. She began a downward spiral. CONCLUSION: the LE supplement is BETTER than the Rx for her and the Rx interferes with absorption of the supplement. This is just her experience and everyone is different but I wanted to share this story as the pharmacists were all telling her the Rx was better and all the supplements were the same. She has since tried other supplements and they are not as effective. If you think you have the genetic inability to metabolize folic acid try this. As a result of her dramatic turn around her doctor is now aggressively appealing the rejection she received from her insurance company for the genetic test. Do not wait for doctors and insurance companies to make/break your life! Her symptoms (which are now gone) included: non-existent short term memory, ADD, anxiety, extreme fatigue, muscle weakness, falling, impulsiveness, inability to follow through on anything, and much more. She had been diagnosed with EVERYTHING except the actual disease. Yea, Life Extension. We love you!!

Theory has it that some people can't process Vitamin D correctly - and that this is the stuff they need. It's supposed to help with depression. I'm not certain if it is....but they are small tablets that have no discernible nasty smell or taste (unlike a lot of other vitamins) so it's well worth a try! Quick service too!

Much more effective in addressing MTHFR symptoms than any other form of folate I've tried. I believe I've trialed each of the forms currently available in the US and effects ranged from no change to making me sicker than before. The only prescription form of folate currently available, Deplin, resulted in the worst increase in symptoms. There are multiple forms of folate. Yet as it stands now, single large pharmaceutical company holding the monopoly on "prescription folate" [essentially a naturally occurring substance, which to the best of my understanding they have notcontributed to the development of in the slightest] is opting to produce one form only, using cheaper ingredients than most of the the nonprescription forms. So I guess let's hope fellow MTHFRs, that they don't go after life extensions right to make this form. Good luck on your quest for better health.

Not to exaggerate, but this supplement is pretty life-changing. Improved my mood and energy immensely within a couple of hours. Expensive but definitely worth it.

Had an LP (lumbar puncture). The doctor was looking for one thing, but that turned out ok. However, the folic acid level was really low in the spinal fluid even though I was taking lots of the regular form of folic acid. This is the form that is absorbed into the spinal/brain fluid. Maybe folic acid is not able to be metabolized to the correct form in my body. Who knows, but I now take this and a little of the regular form. Only another LP can prove that this "optimized form" is being absorbed into the brain. No way will I bother to do that! Some things might never be known, but you try to do the best thing for your body. At least it's worth the try.
