Works on Linux

Got a new Lenovo Ideapad 3 awhile back and, me being me, I put Linux Mint on it. Specifically I went the newest version (mint 22) which came with Kernel 6.8. The card was a Realtek RTL8852be. Could not get the drivers to work after months of searching for answers and suggestions, was a pain.Mentioning all of that in the event someone else has that same issue and spots this review. I got sick of it and either having to USB Tether or use a USB Antenna. Unwilling to wait any longer, I bought this exact card off a recommendation (as an upgrade in general). Works perfectly. Didn't have to install anything to get it working.

Works Great - But

Great product, great price. It installed no problem with the supplied drivers except no 6Ghz! I installed the AX210 drivers from Intel. No 6Ghz. I have Windows 10 21H2. Turns out, Windows 10 disables 6Ghz because MS wants that to be an attractive feature in Windows 11. So I started looking around and found a post with a modified driver. There may be other hacks too. It worked. I named my 6E 6Ghz network a different SSID so I know it's working and yes it's everything it's supposed to be. I live in a crowded apartment complex and I can finally work at home with all my bandwidth.×××Update. I've been using this card for a few days and it's great. I've ordered a second for my work laptop. I actually know a bit about this because I map, install, and configure Meraki and Ubiquity Wifi mesh networks for a living. Really Important - On my Dell, the White wire was the Main and the original AC card denoted Main as White, Aux as Black on its' label. This new one is backwards. It shows Main as Black but in the same position and same #2 on the PCB. Do not pay attention to the color coding. Whatever was Main before, regardless of wire color, must be Main now. I went online and looked at pictures of other laptops to make sure mine wasn't miswired by Dell. It seems with AC, White was Main much or all of the time. Some people will argue, say it's just a piece of wire, they're identicle antenna leads. No, not for all systems. If you switch them you may see degraded Wifi or Bluetooth. Main is Main, Aux is Aux.

Simple install for a big upgrade

I had to recently do repairs on my old Alienware 17r4 to replace the keyboard which required me to open up the laptop and pretty much remove every component so I figured I would upgrade older parts while I was in there. Among them was the old Killer1535 Wifi card that was in the system prior. The old card was rather slow and had spotty connections sometimes so after reading reviews I went with this intel card. It arrived in perfect condition and well packaged. Installation of the card itself is rather simple and straight forward as long as you can easily access your network card plugin for your system easily. Upon booting the system and plugging into the LAN temporarily to download the driver the system immediately downloaded the driver once it had an internet connection and once I unplugged the LAN and connected to the Wifi it worked flawlessly. I ran a speed test and had much better readings compared to my Killer card and it has been working flawlessly for sometime now. I highly recommend this card if you're looking to upgrade.

Worked In My Alienware M17R4

I was told it wouldn't work in here but mine already had a Killer Wireless installed in the m.2 slot that says for Wireless/Bluetooth only. It has a PCI-E one in there also Intel I believe that's built onto the motherboard. I disabled all the network devices and removed the Killer wireless. I installed this, installed new drivers and just like that it was working. Adjusted a few setting and was using WiFi 6 or 802.11AX that quick. I don't use wireless or bluetooth that often on this as I prefer an ethernet connection when possible but the speeds on .AX rivals my ethernet speed on a 2GB Google Fiber network. Very impressive. I have photos of the install but they have disappeared so I will upload them all later when I find them. This was simple to install as long as you have worked inside computers before. Instructions were a little limited considering it could be complicated to some. I did notice on this card the antenna plugs were opposite so I had to plug them in the way it showed on their board. It was opposite my own but guess that's manufacturers preference. This is a great upgrade and I highly recommend if you have a WiFi 6 home network that you upgrade to the AX. This Wise Tiger AX210NGW is truly astonishing in the speed difference.Photos will follow because I have to get a new SSD and they install in the same area so I can take new photos for everyone.Updated by adding the promised photos of in in the Alienware M17xR4 Still no problems and running on an all AX WiFi.

Lenova upgrade thumbs up. Please read if you are having problems with the legion 5 wireless.

Excellent intel bd... replacement for the Realtek bd that was stock in the Legion 5 model (not kidding about the model name). For all you people who are having trouble with the wireless internet with that model, when I took the pc apart (be careful prying the bottom off) I saw what was the basic problem with the Realtek bd. The assembler did not know anything about electronics or was just in a hurry, and one of the two antenna wires was touching the installation screw -- in other words it was grounding out half of the signal. I ordered the new board and while waiting for it, i went ahead and moved the wires and connectors to the side away from the screw and checked out the wireless lan. Suddenly, i had a good signal, so the basic problem was the grounded connector. Now, what about the new board... although I had fixed the basic problem and the wireless was now working, the new bd is very efficient in comparison. Websites pull up in split seconds. For the price of this board, this is a most worthwhile upgrade.
