Good and Bad
This review is based on the quality of the skateboard, and also my experience as a customer. First off, my experience. The skateboard I received had gouges/deep scratches in the black trucks that went into the metal. This isn't normally a huge deal with a skateboard, because normally your going to be grinding curbs etc. But with a mini cruiser, it's different. Your not going to be grinding, so to receive a brand new product in that condition was a let down. I took a small metal file to both trucks to smooth out the gouges and then touched them up with a black marker. It's not perfect, but better than how I received it. Next thing based on my purchase experience is customer service. Sent a message to the company with a question and it's been 17 days with no reply. Maybe my question wasn't important enough for a response? Now onto the quality of the skateboard. The plastic board it very nice. Strong with just a bit of flex. The trucks are nice (besides the deep scratches in mine) the wheels are nice, the hardware is nice. The bearings are horrible. I adjusted the tightness of the wheels like I do with all my new skateboards and a drop of oil in each bearing. One set of bearings in a particular wheel is really really bad. It barely spins, yet is very loose feeling. It makes a clunk noise when you wiggle the wheel, almost as if the axle was smaller than the bearing race. There is a ton of play, but it still doesn't hardly spin. Maybe the bearing internals are defective or something, I'm not sure. If you try to tighten the nut to get rid of the play, the wheel won't spin at all. It's very strange. All this was straight out of the box, brand new, never been rode.-EDIT-I had to edit this to add a bit of important information. It relates to safety, and I feel it's important. Two of the "lock" nuts for the wheels on mine were able to be put on and taken off with my fingers. I tried to mash the nylon part of the locknut to make it grab the threads more, but it didn't work. I would hate to see a kid get hurt when their wheel comes off at speed. If you buy this brand skateboard and yours has the same problem, replace the nuts with new ones or do the cheap fix like I did. Cut a little square of plastic (Ziploc bag) you can use anything really. Make it just big enough to cover the threads when draped over from the end of the axle. Place the end of the axle in the center of the little plastic square you cut and then pull it down over the threads, then thread the nut on the plastic covered threads. This will take up the slop in the threads/nut and keep the nut from falling off while riding. You can also use plumbers Teflon thread tape if you have any. Hope this helps some of you out with this problem on this brand skateboard, or any for that matter.
