Wonderful tool for in-home, safe care & transfer of loved ones & to prevent/lessen the risk to a caregiver of back injury! Now that my husband & I are older with a 'pear shaped' body trunk, gait belts belts are not effective or safe in transferring from recliner to wheelchair. If a common gait belt is too tightly placed around rib cage or abdomen, it restricts breathing; if too loose around the abdomen, it rapidly slides upward to the armpits along with the shirt & T-shirt. By using the Doty Assist Belt with leg straps & the multiply-placed-hand-holds around the waist belt, both user & caregiver can concentrate fully on the 'task to be done' rather than being distracted by the worry of a fall injury. The belt is durable & can be worn into the shower during my husband's self-bathing routine; a slight loosening of the straps allows his soapy washcloth to reach all areas while seated in his rolling bath chair. The Doty Belt is a great gift to give an in-home Caregiver.

Very disappointed that there were NO instructions in the package or box. Found video but does not give you the best direction either. good product when you have a capable person that can understand directions. unable to use in a bathroom situation

I bought this belt for my son how had a stroke. My daughter are taking him to Disney World for his birthday and I fell I will fell we will be able to help him get around safer this belt. Have not used it yet but was very impressed with the video.

I have now had to use this on 6 different occasions. My husband is a large person and my son and I can get him up enough to get him in a low chair. He had a stroke 8 years ago and can only take a few steps and sometimes his bad leg gives out. The one I got is for a larger person but it has saved me from having to call 911 to get help. You must have 2 people to lift. Worth every penny to me.

I already wrote a review of this item weeks ago. Take a look at the reviews on Amazon for this product. It is is a rave review because I love this product . I have problems with my balance and have had a few falls. Sometimes, I can't help the person who is trying to help me up. This belt will solve that problem. I just hope I don't have to use it too often.

This has been my life savor. My mother weights 230LBS and my 16 year old daughter and i are able to safely transport my mother from place to place. It is really the best purchase that i have made.

Haven't had to use it yet but have been badgered to post a review. It's for my father who keeps falling and needing assistance to get up. I figured it would help the fire dept when they came and if my brother and I had to pick him up again this would make it easier. We shall see.
