This was bought for a trip away where I needed the heat for my back but could not take a bulky electric blanket. Have used it also when sitting in my chair to ease my back especially useful to me as a disabled person, though you may wish to wrap a soft towel round it as with my very painful back I can feel the wires the towel worked.
