I had burned out adrenal 6 years ago and have been using this natural product since then to aid in restoring my endocrine system back to health.

This is a review for SR-Adrenal (TM) which may or may not be what is captioned above but it is what I received.The ingredient list includes Adrenal substance 125 mg and Adrenal cortex 50 mg. I was intending to use this to supplement adrenal hormones while getting some benefit from the other components. I have previously used a combination of IsoCort and Cytozyme-AD. When I questioned the manufacturer as to what "Adrenal substance" is, I was referred to Dr. Larson as the formulator. First he said it was an extract but when I ask how it was extracted he said it was the whole glandular, but when I said "so it is desiccated adrenal?" he seemed not to agree. Clearly it is desiccated. When I ask what the cortisol content of the adrenal components was, he said it had not been measured. My experience in attempting to replace the above mentioned products indicated that the adrenal components have had their active hormones removed. That should have been stated. A useful comparison is with the Cytozyme-AD which contains 80 mg Neonatal Adrenal Complex. 1/4 of a tablet contains enough adrenaline to feel, 1/2 tablet is too much but for the SR-Adrenal with 125 mg adrenal substance, I feel nothing with an entire capsule. Another comparison is with Thytrophin PMG by Standard Process. It clearly states "Each tablet supplies 45 mg Bovine Thyroid PMG Extract, processed to remove it's thyroxine." My rating of 1 star should not be taken as indicating the other components are worthless.

I have been using this as a non prescription alternative to adrenal support. If you are having thyroid challenges (hypo or hyper) consider looking at your adrenal system. It supports your thyroid so just caring for your thyroid may not be the whole answer. This product was "prescribed" by my Naturopathic MD and has been a great help. No stomach upset, no jitters or sleep problems. Just more energy and clarity!

This works great! Best substitute for Isocort. Started with 2 in am and 2 in pm for a week then 2 in am, 1 in pm for a week, then 1 in am and 1 in pm to maintain. If stressed add more just like Isocort. Only note: it can affect sleep if taking too much while not under stress.
