Must read for little boys
Super cute fun book for boys…kind of a book that informs them on all kinds of situations and what to do. My son is not a reader, but did enjoy reading this book.

"totally cool" says my son...
My older son LOVED this book- here are his exact words when asked Q: What did you like about the book? "it had very good terminology and was written well. It had pictures, diagrams, and funny parts as well as informative parts that taught you how to do stuff. (like how to tie knots, how to build shelters, survive zombie attacks and almost the whole book was about surviving outdoors. I definitely think this is one of the top 5 books I'd have in my treehouse bookshelf, or tent if I was camping!"There was nothing he didn't like about the book .That pretty much sums it up- from a kid's perspective

Pleasant, more than just woodcraft and outdoor survival skills.
My 9 year old son found this funny and interesting. I found it far more palatable than a Diary of a Wimpy Kid book. Some of it is good fun like how to survive a Zombie Attack, others are good primers on boy scout type stuff like trip planning. The book has a --I can handle anything with a little ingenuity--but not too much thinking--attitude. Adapt and overcome. This is a good attitude in this book--victor not a victim approach. This would be a good book to send with your son when he gets on a bus or plane for summer camp. He'll soon see there's a little humor and a little wisdom in dear old Dad's ways.

Looks like fun reading...read many parts myself!
I ordered this book for my 10 year old nephew for a Christmas present this year and all I can say is that this is exactly the type of book I would have loved when I was about that age. This might also be a good choice for boys that aren't terribly interested in reading. It has short segments and lots of information boys that age would be interested in. I would think that a book like this would interest boys in some outdoors type stuff and could lead them into reading some Jack London classics like "Call of the Wild", "White Fang" or "To Build a Fire".Another good option is "The Dangerous Book for Boys".

Great Fun & Educational Book!
I got this book for my son and he has reread the book at least 3 times already. I thought the book cover was very bland and would not interest my son to pick up the book to read...but he said the title of the book got him interested. He said that there is so many interesting topics in the book. I am so happy to see my son enjoy reading a book!

Gave this as a gift to kids graduating from Cub Scouts
I purchased 5 copies of this when my son and his friends all graduated from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. It's part serious, part fun, and sometimes truly hilarious. They all seemed to like it a lot, and I heard a few good laughs while they were reading it.My son still reads it sometimes even now for Troop stuff.

Great read facts and fun!
I teach reading and math to special education students. Fostering an interest in reading books for fun is difficult enough for students who have developed an extreme aversion to reading in general, but capturing their interest in reading for information, is a monumental undertaking. Every winter break I try to find a book they will read and reread. This year (and the last few years) I got this book for my boys. They were thrilled. They were observed reading it every spare minute! When they returned to school after the break, this book was constantly read and reread. The facts are interspersed with tongue-in-cheek information like "How to survive a zombee attack"!I have gotten glowing feedback from parents who have enjoyed the book too.

Very educational and entertaining.
It was a birthday gift for my grandson who loves to read He turned 11 years old. He sat down and started reading that very minute he got it. Very well made book. Very interesting for a boy that age. Funny parts and other parts of the book very interesting with subjects of teaching methods to do things on his own.

The Boys' Book of Survival:How to Survive Anything, Anywhere
I bought this for my 11 year old great-nephew and read it through to make sure it was 'suitable' before giving it to him. He hasn't yet told me what he thought of it but his Dad thought it was great and so did I. There are some sensible chapters in it and some really crazy (not dangerous) ones too..like How to Survive an Alien Attack, etc., which had me howling with laughter. I would have thought an 11 year old would really enjoy this book as it is fun and will be a pleasant change from school text books.

9 year old son loves it
My son has always been into survival skills. He loves this book and finds it both funny and interesting. He is 9 years old but has been schooled only in french until this year and he can read most of it fine.
