Unfinished Tales Illustrated Edition

Quelle belle pièce dans ma collection!

I was a little worried about opening this book, even though I had bought the Silmarillion Illustrated Edition and loved it. After buying the Silmarillion, I had purchased the one-volume illustrated edition of the Lord of the Rings from the same publisher, and I was shocked to see that they used a very thin paper that did not match the quality of the Silmarillion volume. So I opened the book immediately and went through as many pages as I could. I am happy to report that it was done just as well as the Silmarillion edition was. The two volumes look perfect next to each other, and I’m very happy to have them on my bookshelf. I re-read a couple of the stories. I was so excited to have the book again. I am so happy to have it to replace the original copy (that I bought back in the 80s.).

As fotos mostram esta edição (da Houghton Mifflin Harcourt) e uma edição da Harper Collins (capa amarela, à esquerda). A diagramação da edição da HC é mais compacta, ou seja, apresenta mais texto numa única página; o livro é mais fino; e o papel é mais transparente, e também mais amarelado.Os dois livros são excelentes, mas eu tive a oportunidade de escolher e fiquei com o conforto e a beleza da edição ilustrada da HMH, impressa e encadernada na Itália. Quem tem um exemplar desta edição tem tudo, e não precisará de nenhuma "edição de luxo".
