Unscented, 1 oz: Detox Your Pits First, Then Try!
Before you read my review, you must know: 1) I didn't go straight from using a commercial anti-perspirant or deo to trying this product. I suspect that any bad reviews you're seeing are coming from people who are doing that. 2) I haven't used standard products for over 7 years, having had cancer plus being chemically sensitive. I make my own, make do, or use what few products I can find, and that's for cleaning the house, personal care products, everything. Earthpaste brands for toothpaste, vinegar and water instead of windex, etc, etc. I detox regularly as a matter of habit and also a little every day because I tend to add a tiny bit of baking soda to my bar soap when I wash my armpits. Basically, I have a set of thoroughly and regularly detoxed arm pits. 3) Before I tried this product, even having not used standard deo for years and years, I used the apple cider vinegar and water detox recipe you can find on google, and dabbed the mixture on my clean pits after a shower, let dry, and then DID NOT APPLY any deo at all, each day for a full week. I do have bentonite clay (because I detox regularly) and it shows up in recipes but acv and water is all you need if you don't have that. Now that you know all these things, my review:If I could give this product enough stars to indicate fireworks and cartwheels, I would. Imagine a John Philip Sousa marching tune and girls twirling batons and confetti tossed into the air amid cheering crowds. My husband uses the supposed "natural" products like Tom's and Schmidts but I can't tolerate those, so I am absolutely THRILLED that I now have a stick deo that I can use. I can order it and it comes in a little stick and sits on the counter top and looks like a normal deodorant in the bathroom of a normal person. (When you're chemically sensitive, all that normalcy goes out the window fast.) And it works! With one application per day, absolutely no armpit odor, even when tested with the ole "face in your pits" test before stepping into the shower. Even better, as people who have detoxed their pits knows, one application every two days (one application for every two showers) works too.Odor test: Face in the pits: zero stink. I live in the US South where it's hot and humid. One day I had a vigorous workout outside when the humidity was especially vicious, when the temp was over 90 degrees, and I was on day two of my deo application. Stepping into the shower later, expecting the worst, face in the pits smell test: STILL NO ODOR!Wetness test: I'm not the best person to ask, given that I'm used to non-standard deodorants, so I tugged on my shirt a couple times a day as I remembered to test the dampness situation. I wear looser fit clothes so maybe it's not fair, but, unlike with my make-do or make-your-own deos, I had very little to absolutely no wetness. I was really surprised.Misc info: I tried the unscented and because I can tolerate no scent at all, I was overwhelmed by and thus frightened by the smell. However, it was of coconut oil, a scent I love and am well acquainted with because I make my own products. Of course I had no reactions to it; it just took getting used to. I still think it's a bit strong. When I make products with coconut oil, I don't smell the coconut oil like I smell this, but a non-chemically sensitive person wouldn't notice it at all.Easy To Spread: Coconut oil/wax is stiffer than you're probably used to with solid deodorants. I was already aware of this. Just gently place your palm over the stick for a few seconds before applying and your body heat will soften it. No problem to spread. As I read in other reviews, a couple swipes will do it. You don't have to put on much. Familiar with coconut oil/wax, I also rub the deodorant around my pits once I've swiped a couple times to make sure it covers the area.Green Tidings is the first product I've tried that I've liked and that I've considered to be actually safe and natural, and I do not plan on shopping around. I am sticking with them. For so many years, things like this were not available and then for a few more I was unaware of them. Anybody coming to the natural deodorant movement now is extremely lucky to have so many truly-safe choices. But going "natural" is work and it's not like the chemicals you're used to, so if you're unwilling to detox and to adapt, stick with the standard products. My life depended on it (cancer) and then I was struck with an almost-unliveable illness (MCS) which made anything else impossible, or, honestly, I'd still be bathing myself in and spraying myself with all the toxic chemicals that everybody else doesn't think twice about. Our pioneer ancestors (who didn't have 409 or Cover Girl or Pantene) were not wusses, and neither can we be if we want to ditch the poison. In this world of convenience, it's not easy to avoid toxins, but if it's worth it to you, you'll find a way.

It was quite bad. It's a paste and melts at normal temperatures

Best deoderant I've used...and I've tried them all, both natural and not
I've never written a review for a product I've purchased but this product definitely deserves recognition. I have tried many different types of natural deoderants from Toms, Jason, Alvera, and mineral salts. None of those kept sweat odor away all day, a couple hours after applying my underarms would smell like BO. I wouldn't consider myself a person that sweats excessively however my job is very stressful and I do sweat because of it. After trying several natural deoderants I went back to regular deoderants. I tried Mitchum, dove, secret, and clinical strength deoderants. None of them gave me all day odor protection. By the end of the day I'd smell like a fake flower scent and BO lol. I purchased the Greem Tidings deoderant not expecting much from it. I was pretty blown away by it the first day I used it. I had a regular stressful day at work and the usual amount of sweating because of it. At the end of the day there was absolutely no BO smell. I am seriously not exaggerating this, my underarms smelled like lavender only snd zero BO. I've ordered more and plan to use it for the rest of my life. The only complaints I would have about the deoderant is that the oils in can stain your shirt. I have to wear a white button down shirt for work everyday and if I sweat I get really yellow sweat stains. Any other deoderant I used I wouldn't get yellow stains so I know it's not my sweat. However if I spray some stain remover on it and wash it, the stain comes completely out and there is no left over stain. So I won't compain too much about that part because it doesn't ruin the shirt. I dont have any other complaints about the deoderant except that it isn't an antiperspirant but I'm absolutely ok with that since I avoid the harmful chemicals. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone and everyone, it is incredible. There are some reviews about the lavendar smell being pungent but I wouldn't agree with that. I think it smells good. I could see it being pungent if you applied a lot on. However I found that I only use a very little bit and it keeps my underarms smelling good all day and it's not pungent. I actually end up applying a lot less deoderant using this one than when I used a regular deoderant/antiperspirant. Some of the other reviews did complain about using up the deoderant really fast but in my case it will probably take me a long time to get through one stick because I apply such a small amount. Again though, you would go through it fast if you applied a lot. So overall I give this five stars even though you do get yellow pit stains (it does come out in the wash). This is the best deoderant I have ever used and I will continue using!Over a year update: I'm am still using this deodorant everyday. It does a great job of odor protection. After a long day of work or after working out, my underarms only smell like lavender or no smell at all. I've been using this deodorant for several years now and I'd be very reluctant to try something different since this one works so well. As stated above, I have tried almost every other deodorant/antiperspirant (natural and chemical ones) out there and this is the one I keep coming back to after failed attempts. I really don't have any complaints about this deodorant. My white shirts I wear every day for work do not have armpit stains on them and I've been wearing them for over a year and a half now. The smell is pleasant and I've had people tell me they like the smell of it. One stick will last me 8 months. It really doesn't take much application for oder coverage all day. I've also noticed that the shea butter and coconut oil help with razor burn after shaving. I travel a lot for work also and their travel size is perfect.Overall, I would still highly recommend this product to anyone.

Amazing!!!
Original Review:For years, I only used the "clinical strength" deodorant/antiperspirant. I thought I wasn't supposed to sweat at all, so I bought the expensive crap. It worked pretty well but I started learning about harmful chemicals found in hygiene products and deodorant seemed to be chock full of them!!! I was at a crossroads. I knew I couldn't have stinky or sweaty pits but I didn't want my body to be absorbing toxic chemicals either. I started my journey for a natural deodorant. I tried 4 store-bought brands with terrible results for every single one! Some made my armpits break out, some required more applications than I had time to even THINK about (let alone do), and some just straight-up left me stinky to the point where I couldn't even believe I smeared anything on them that day.I found the green tidings brand while doing a very intense internet search for deodorant. The top review, written by the tennis-playing man, had me curious. I figured I would try out one tube of the stuff to see if it lived up to its fancy reviews. My first observations:1) wow, the lavender-scented one REALLY smells like lavender. Great for people that LOVE the smell of actual lavender, not so great for people that don't want to smell like a hippie. For the record, I love it.2) It didn't really keep me from sweating all together (which I have learned now is a GOOD THING) but I so sweat significantly less than I did while using other natural brands3) IT WORKS! I mean it! I don't stink when I use this stuff!!!4) my husband (who is a very stinky man when he doesn't take proper precautions) used it and also fell in love. We now order the 3 packs and don't ever want to think about trying a different brand.Even the "negatives" about this product really aren't negatives. Just things that come with the product...1) it's more expensive than the chemical-laden sticks at the drug store (but it's worth the extra dollars)2) if you have a husband who loves to keep the house freezing cold, it may take a few passes over your skin before any of the product comes out. It's made with coconut oil so it hardens up when it's cold (buuuut I'm not mad about it because it's an easy thing to just rub the tube a few extra strokes AND I would rather have solid coconut oil for deodorant than aluminum. Any day.)In short, this is a fantastic natural deodorant. I prefer it to clinical strength brands. It's just as good, in fact, better (no harmful chemicals!!!) You should buy it.---------------EDIT---------------I have had to stop using this deodorant. After about a year and a half or two years of everyday use and excellent results, I began getting red, painful bumps on my underarms. I did a lot of trial and error to see what the cause was, and unfortunately, it was this deodorant. I even tried an "armpit detox" with activated charcoal and apple cider vinegar, as I found suggested online. Even after about 4 months of no use, I tried it again, only to have the same bumps come back. I am so confused about why I could use it for so long with no side effects and then suddenly, I had problems.

Pros and cons
I WANT to love this product. I like the smell and it so far - mostly - controls odor well. I have only been using it a few days so I will come back and update my review when I've used it longer. So far I have no irritation and it seems to control odor almost as well as regular deodorant. What I do like about it is, there is none of the yucky synthetic smell that I used to dislike about regular deodorant, I used to use secret solid and it left a strong deodorant scent on my clothing and I didn't like it, no matter which scent I tried. The reason I only gave this deodorant three stars is because it stained my shirt with oil. That could be because I reapplied it later in the day, but I reapplied it because I needed a little more of it. I have taken to showering again in the evening and applying the deodorant for overnight too. It is possible I'm going through that detox they talk about online when you switch to natural deoderant, also perhaps I should have rubbed in the deoderant better or something so it wouldn't stain my shirt. Which is why I will come back in another couple of weeks to see if the deodorant is great. I hope so because I really like it, however it is also overpriced. I am considering making my own at home because I have found online recipes that are pretty much the same exact ingredients. So three stars for a good scent, and a nice natural product which is surprisingly effective.Deducting two stars for it being overpriced, for imperfect odor control (although the jury is still out on that one so I'm not closing my mind to it working better as time passes) but mainly for the ruining of my shirt with oil stains in the armpits, and the very high price of the product.Luckily it was not one of my more expensive shirts or I would've been really mad! It was a casual shirt so while I was a bit annoyed, it's not the end of the world. I will not use this with any of my nicer shirts until I figure out how prevent that from happening again.
