Q: What country are these made in?

made in china I order one I wasn't impressed with the tool it didn't crimp very well I hope this helps.

Q: Do these work with the miller acc1 j clips? on 1/2" x 1/2" hardware cloth?

These would work with the Miller J clips but on 1/2 by 1/2 hardware cloth it's pretty tight. You'll probably bend the first row up a little bit and you have to finagle the pliars through the half inch hole. I prefer to have 1/2 by 1 inch hardware cloth, putting the clips on in the direction of the one-inch opening.

Q: will these fit around a 1/4 rod?

Yes, they will fit around ONE 1/4" rod, but not two. They do work well.

Q: Can someone confirm these pliers will work in 1/2"X1/2" opening hardware cloth before I buy?

These pliers will work with 1/2" hardware cloth. I believe that is the size of the mesh in the pictures for a visual perspective.
