A Great Coming-Of-Age Film!
Yoshifumi Kondō’s 1995 film, “Whisper of the Heart,” adapts Hayao Miyazaki’s screenplay based on Aoi Hiiragi’s 1989 manga of the same name. The movie is a fun coming-of-age romantic drama that will remind people in their 30s and 40s what it was like when they were a young high school student with their whole future laid out ahead of them. The main character, Shizuku, is studying for her high school entrance exams, balancing friendship with Yūko, a crush on Seiji, and family obligations in addition to her imaginary fantasies about Baron Humbert von Gikkingen, a cat (who later appears in Hiroyuki Morita’s 2002 film, “The Cat Returns”). The film uses John Denver’s song, “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” as a through-line to capture the mood of a transitional period in life. This makes it particularly poignant for people watching it during their own high school years as well as older viewers who recall the impact that high school and college had in their own growth.

Another masterpiece
Hayao Miyazaki is a genius. I've watched all of Studio Ghibli's films and haven't been disappointed yet. This is a lighthearted story about growing up and pursuing your dreams. The small amount of teen romance thrown in is just cute. The art style is stunning.

Beautiful movie
Beautifully drawn, directed, acted, and written. This director was supposed to replace Miyazaki so he could retire, but he died after making this movie. If you like Miyazaki, you should like this movie a lot too.

Personally I love the design of the UK steelbooks being released, and this is another great addition to the collection.

El atractivo de esta colección es el slip cover metálico, no obstante, una vez más, Amazon México se las ingenió para hacerme la vida miserable con una steelbook abollada y raspada. No fueron capaces de hacerme un reemplazo. Un asco su servicio al cliente.
