Q: Is this for a 36" cooktop?

i used this for a 30". It depends how much suction and light you feel you need. for 36", i used the twin KA-138

Q: will this work on a 48" range or do I need to buy two units?

NO product help available

Upon installation, this hood does not work. Appears that the button switchboard is defective. I can't find any information from the seller or manufacturer to honor the warranty or get any product help for this hood. I feel stuck with a $1K product that nobody can repair or answer any questions on.

4 stars for now, looks great!

I just received the unit and I'm impressed by the heavy duty fabrication and fan/motor. I have not installed it yet but have powered it up and all is in perfect working order. Arrived undamaged. Once I've got it installed and tested out I'll move to five stars if it goes well.
