After 3 uses (hand wash only) this is what happened. See pics. It spotted horibly and tarnished. Its is most likely polished zinc, not stainless steel (I am a metalurgist by trade). The spots cannot be removed and leave black marks in smashed potatoes. Yikes! Stay away from this bad boy. Wow false advertising... Too bad I missed my return window.

It does the job okay, could of been a bit bigger.However I would not buy it againYou cannot put it in the dishwasher, it tarnishs the metal and then it smears every where. I had to scrub it with a course cloth in soap to clean it.In the future only hand wash

Not dishwasher safe . Disappointed because when you are using it on meat you have to be able to sterilize it . The finish came off the first time I used it , and I had to throw it out .

Good design.Use for a number of different purposes.Works well.
