This is the best board game expansion pack I’ve ever played!Pandemic is already wickedly hard, but the addition of a bioterrorist makes it nearly impossible!I’m never going to win again!

I'll admit this was my first Pandemic game, and was a little out of my league. But after A quick run through with a friend who owns this as well, I feel confident in reviewing it.First up:The quality of this game is outstanding! The board is full of dark and brooding colors that perfectly capture the feel of an HP Lovecraft story. The locations, villains and character archetypes are ripped straight out of his stories.The pace of the game is top notch as well, there isn't any downtime as you attempt to close gateways and battle cultists and shuggoths , all the while enduring sanity draining game mechanics from the Old ones each round.I will say I wasn't bored playing this game. And I found it fun to be working together with friends as we tried (and failed) at stopping Cthulhu from rising. He did say it's possible to win, but I told him its closer to the books that we failed.Now the only thing I would say against this game is that it's a little tricky to learn.The instructions are great and fairly well laid out. But if this is your first time (like me) playing a pandemic game, you'll probably struggle a bit your first go around. But after two or three play-throughs you should be fine.I think seasoned Pandemic players won't have any troubles jumping right in.Overall, this is a fantastic game that I highly recommend picking up if you get the chance.

So much fun! As relatively inexperienced board game players, I was worried it would take me and my partner too long to figure this out, but we learned how to play in our first go with the aid of the instructions and some YouTube videos. After one game, we both feel as though our mind has been opened up to the world of board games. We played Catan, Splendor, and many card games before (and love them!), and now with this co-operative gameplay, we are so excited to immerse ourselves into more complex games. I highly recommend this game!

Our family and playing group really enjoyed Season 1 Pandemic legacy and it is was our first legacy game we ever purchased. This game is made for hobbyist gamers and meant to be played over 12-24 game sessions. While this sounds daunting it actually provides a great playing experience!If you're new to Legacy type games, they're games that provide surprise twist and turns as you play and made to wear you write, change, and destroy components of the game (this felt so wrong to how we make sure to take care of our game collection).The game has a great tutorial session that makes sure that you get comfortable with the base game of pandemic before you start playing and making lasting changes to the game. You follow the story of workers trying to cure diseases spreading across the world as you work together taking every action you can to fight of them breaking out into Pandemic's!The cost seems high for a board game but the amount of game and components received is well worth it. We recommend finding a few players to split the cost with and to share in this experience.We highly recommend this game and hope you have a great adventure with it!I'm posting a review on other Pandemic products but, our experience says to stay away from Pandemic Season 2 (we had a horrible experience) but, Season 0 is the best release yet!!!!!

Some notes-It is best if you (or someone you're playing with) have played enough rounds of Pandemic to be familiar with the rules before playing this game. It makes the game very easy to pick up and get quickly into.-This is an incredibly well-produced legacy game. The legacy deck and top secret dossiers make the development of the game/story easy to follow. The only legacy game I had played before this one was Charterstone, and, though Charterstone was good, this one leaves it in the dust. There is a reason why this game is consistently #1 or 2 on Board Game Geek.-You don't have to love Pandemic to enjoy this game. I like Pandemic, but it is not in my top 10. This game is easily amongst my favorites I have ever played.-If you don't have a consistent crowd, it is easy to add or subtract players from round to round. Obviously, the experience is better if everyone can be there for each game, but if someone needs to drop out or an extra joins up late, it will be no problem.-The game works really well with two players. The only drawback is that there are some roles that don't work as well with only two players, and some months where one of you may feel obligated to take a certain role.-Very highly recommend for anyone who isn't turned off by the theme. My wife refuses to play it simply because it is about a pandemic. If this doesn't bother you, get a good group, and enjoy!
