Family Guy: Live in Vegas
R**F
A must have for FG fans.
Great cd. Catchy, entertaining, high caliber "show" with all the Family Guy flavor. They do a montage of 80 s tv shows, but they re missile The Facts Of Life. Small prob,em though. If you appreciate orchestra and jazz, and love the musical numbers in the show, this CD is for you. The music stays in my head, but I have to be careful singing it because the words are not appropriate for the kids.

Ordered this to add to my collection of Seth discs
Listening to this reminds me of listening to old time radio shows. And the included Stewie's Sex Party DVD was pretty funny. Got this to add to my collection of Seth discs.

Family Guy Scores Musically
Imagine walking into a Vegas showroom and finding out that the show tonight is the cast of Family Guy singing to original and classic songs accompanied with a musical score conducted by Walter Murphy. This is the CD you would buy after the show was over. Since the Griffins are cartoons, the front cover art is the closest you'll ever get to visually see that show. But I do like what I'm hearing.(BTW: There is a Family Guy Live show out there featuring cast and crew members doing a table reading and Q&A, but this is not a live performance of that, this is just an originally made show)The CD is edited as you'd be watching a Vegas show, so, yes, there's a recorded audience. And, yes, they are annoying at times, such as when you're trying to laugh, but a ton of non-existant people are as well...kind of weird. But some of it was clever, such as an audience member yelling "I love you, Stewie!" and his response: "Good."Every number IS a Broadway show tune, or at least built to be. The pay-off of this technique is shown in "TV Medley", which gives 80's sitcom themes an extra oomph.A run-down of songs:1. Fanfare & Intro: Tom and Diane provide a brief chat before the show begins.2. Theme from Family Guy: One of the highlights, the never-before heard extended version of the FG theme. (since Walter Murphy did write the original theme, the extended version is appropiately written) Basically it's new lyrics laying upon the old, with an extra stanza somewhere in there. Pretty good.3. Babysitting Is a Bum Deal: Halie Duff and Stewie bicker about their babysitting experience. Stewie's lyrics are hysterical, while Duff's are forced. I wonder if it was written that way on purpose. Okay, but not my favorite.4. Dear Booze: One in three Brian slow songs, this one is most notably the best since it is actually based on a character trait of Brian from the series. Plus, Seth singing Brian here is very different from the series for some reason, I have no idea why.5. The Q-Man Loves Nobody: Quaqmire and Patti LuPone sing a duet about how, unlike Patti would like it, Quaqmire loves no one but his own "sweet, flippin' self". This is an hysterical number, one of the best.6. All Cartoons Are F***** D****: Hmmm...yep. This is it. The absolute greatest song Seth MacFarlane and Walter Murphy have ever written. Each of the Griffins (and guest star Jason Alexander) sing a stanza about old cartoon characters doing naughty deeds, and suprisingly there's not one of them that is unfunny. Each of them made me laugh out loud once the punchline came. Plus, it's very, very catchy. Yes, Small World catchy. It's still in my head!7. Last Time I Saw Paris: Brian slow song #2. The spoken parts pick it up a little bit.8. But Then I Met You: A snazzy duet with Peter and Lois which is more contemporary than Broadway, an odd thing to come by in this albulm.9. T.V. Medley: Wow. "All Cartoons..." is the best song, but this is the best part. Stewie and Brian have a huge, ten minute duet, and like I said above, basically composing of old 80's sitcom themes put to a full orchestra. And, holy crap, does it work. It's not a song, but a very well-put together bit.10. Puberty's Gonna Get Me: Chris' solo, crooning about the horrors of puberty. Some funny lyrics, but otherwise forgettable.11. But I'm Yours: Peter Griffin's solo, like Chris' is very forgettable. In fact, I had no idea it was coming the second time I was listening.12. Slightly Out of Tune (Desafinado): The worst of the Brian slow songs, another forgettable. By this time, I thought the CD had run out of juice...13. One Boy: But alas, an unlikely hero, Herbert the old guy, comes to rescue with taking a ballad that's SUPPOSED to be sung by a girl about one, special boy. Of course, it's a song for Chris, who is excited about it upon first, but after listening, is less than ethusiastic. Still, it was really unexpected and saved the CD from oblivion.14. Quahog Holiday: The finale!! Lois starts by recollecting thoughts about their home in Rhode Island...and what comes is another catchy song (not as catchy as "All Cartoons...") with Adam West, who delievers another mind-blowingly funny performance, also other Quahog residents sing as well.15. Bow Music: Short, with audience applause and a short joke by Stewie. Quahog Holiday is the appropiate finale, though, so don't expect anything bigger afterward. The spoken interludes (between songs and sometimes during) are half-ripped from the audio commentary of the "Freakin' Sweet Collection", but there's some new stuff, such as Stewie complaining that he's been one-year old for five years and going on now.The CD is 68 minutes long, so this'll be a good time waster for listening into your car or on an iPod. And, it's also available for those young Family Guy fans, edited and safe. But, if you want the true funny, go for the unedited stuff, just so you have the pleasure for hearing Stewie say the F-word.Overall, if you're a Family Guy fan, this is a definite pick up for you. But, for starters, it's best if you watch the show first to get introduced to the characters, since the CD almost seems exlcusive for only those who have watched the series' currently available fifty episodes (soon to increase when the new season goes onto DVD). Enjoy, and laugh your head off.

nickel speaks
If you're a Family Guy fan (like me) and you can leave what's going on up to your imagination instead of the TV it's great.More than a little rude, but that's what Family Guy feeds on,right?

Intelligently halarious!
This CD is one of the best Family Guy skits out there. The TV show is great, but when you watch it, you end up filling in the nuances yourself. This uncensored and halarious. I feel like I am in vegas at a live show.

Save Your Money
Unless your the type of person who needs to purchase every type of media that Family Guy is on, PASS on this CD.Voices are less than average. Lois sounds like she has a clothes pin on her nose.Basically this CD was released so that the characters can swear. This is confirmed by Seth MacFarlane on the bogus...I mean bonus DVD.All in all, not worth the money.

SENSATIONAL!!!
I LOVE this album! There is not one track on this CD that I don't enjoy. I really hope there are more FG albums in the future. This CD is a MUST for any Family Guy fan out there. The cast is BRILLIANT...As always :) I'd seriously have given TEN stars for this album, but it wasn't an option. If you don't have this and you LOVE Family Guy, you should seriously pick it up.

Wer Family Guy mal hören will, kann ruhig mal investieren
