Is the calorie indicator accurate?

I don't know. the indicator is not great. keep moving to different things! I usually ignore it.

Just bought one of these and the display is stuck on zero

I had the same problem, just put a new battery in.

why's it constantly squeaking? so annoying, especially when it was stated to be silent

I can only suggest it needs a little lubrication with a light oil. Could just simply be the pedals?
