Good value, dogs love the flavor, helping with joint and coat
I have two pug mix dogs, one is 12 lbs one is 32 lbs. Both of them were interested in the pill and chewed on it but then spit it out - they didn't seem to be able to get over the size and texture. So I started puncturing the pill with a needle and squirting the liquid out over their dinner and they love it. They get very excited to eat their dinner, and love the added fish flavor. The pills are large enough to hold onto and safely puncture. So far these have worked very well for us, the dogs enjoy them, it will be easy to pack when we travel, and we would buy this product again. We've used it 6 weeks so far, and the supplement does seem to be helping their coat and the one dog's joints. Our vet recommended using Omega 3 to help delay and joint damage due to the little dog's luxating patella.

Product works well
I bought this product type on a recomendation from my vet. I took my time writing this review because I wanted to know how the product worked and I knew it would take a while to see results. The product is working very well on my dog with her skin and coat condition. She has a double coat and it's very thick and her skin dries out underneath. It's very difficult to brush her with her fur being so thick. This has made grooming much easier, she is much more comfortable, and her hair is very soft and silky now. I actually want to try this with another one of my dogs.

How to administer without mess?
It’s too soon to tell if this product is truly making a difference in my new rescues coat or skin. I think I see some changes for the better but it might also be her new diet or the absence of her bacterial ear infection which took a month to cure. The reason for knocking off a star is the difficulty in dosing. If I give it whole, she just plays with it and finally leaves it lay. The one time she did puncture it was on my one good rug, leaving an oily mess. Not happy with that. I then started using a scissors holding it over the bowl. The oil squirts up and over the scissors, not down like you would think. My next experiment has been to use a large sewing needle to puncture it. It squirts out sideways and over the bowl onto the counter. There has got to be a less messy way. I hate getting the fishy insides on my hands, etc. in the larger scheme of things, if it works, I will be happy and disregard the hassle but I would love to know how others handle this problem. My next idea is to put her on the back porch with the capsule and let her mess with it out there. Maybe she will get the hang of eating it. I don’t want to use peanut butter. She already gets a dab of that with her meds.

Our dog loves it!
Our dog brody is a rescue lab mix that we have had for just over 2 years. He was about 2 when we rescued him. At the beginning we didn't notice any skin issues. Then I would say within the past year he has developed some skin and coat issues. It was very alarming at first and we took him in and the vet told us he was very healthy, although they said that it seems that he has allergies. The issues he was having was dry patches, itching, sneezing and red bumps or hot patches on his underside. To make a long story short, after doing tons of research on different dog skin supplements we decided to purchase Purethentic Naturals Omega 3 for dogs about a month ago. We have given the supplement with his morning and evening meals. He seems to love it and now takes the entire pill as a treat! Also, we haven't noticed any new dry patches, bumps or the allergies have not gotten any worse. We hope in time he will start to grow back his hair in places where he either bit fur off or scratched it off. It really seems to be handling these issues that we were having.

Helped in supporting healthy skin and coat!
I rescued two dogs who were in pretty bad condition as far as their overall health and skin. A pit-mix with staph, chewing lice, and worms and a shepherd mix with severe mange. The received appropriate vet care, of course, but I also started them on these fish oil pills. Neither have any issues taking the pills. I just drop the pill right in their dry dog food. They eat it as with their food. The shepherd loves it. He goes for the pill first thing! The pit mix just had her one year check up since I got her and the vet commented on how healthy her skin and coat looked. I've had the shepherd mix for about three months. His fur has grown in beautifully and is so soft. I'm continuing them on these for the skin improvements I've seen with the fish oil and also for the immune support. I've not tried similar products from other companies, but I see no need to. I'm very satisfied with this one.

Dry, flaky skin be gone.
I have one Doberman mix and one pit bull mix, and they both have long had problems with dry, flaky skin. My Dobie finally got so bad despite soothing bathes, frequent brushing, coconut oil rubs, etc that I brought her to the vet and he recommended putting her on a supplement. This product has helped immeasurably. Shiny fur, softer skin, no more little white flakies. My pittie still gets them when she has allergy issues, but her shine has improved as well. A side effect I have noticed is a definite increase in energy (which they didn't need, having been quite high energy already). My mom has asked repeatedly if I am now giving the dogs some form of caffeine with their skin treatment.
