Well we are in the midst of the California rains and these socks are definitely waterproof. i walked my dogs through huge puddles and my shoes got soaked but my feet stayed dry even after several hours of walking through rain and puddles.

I really didn’t like this. Just used wool socks

I wear these under my water shoes kayaking when it’s cooler weather. When I get into the cold water, to step into my kayak, my feet stay dry! I’ve washed them once in the washer and line dried. The last time I washed by hand and liked that better.

These are comfortable and will keep the sand out but they are by no means waterproof while wading through a shallow creek.
