The microphone is a central component of any aspiring voiceover artist, so when I started getting booked consistently, I decided to upgrade and bought a moderately expensive microphone (more than a grand) from the mic company everyone knows. And then I didn't like it. Enter the Roswell Mini K87. I'd tried all kinds of mics, all across price points and brands, and decided to throw the Roswell Mini K87 into the mix based on hearing about it in a roundabout way. This mic is wonderful. It's a very full and warm sounding microphone, but it doesn't hype any specific parts of my voice - just rich, smooth, detailed sound. It's very sensitive without being overly sensitive, and it mixes beautifully. This is the kind of sound I'd hoped to get when I spent a bunch of money on the other one, and everything about it speaks to high quality and care in construction - the shock mount is innovative and small enough to not be obtrusive, and the microphone itself is not large. For me, this mic represents a wonderful value and although I'm using this microphone for voiceover, I think it would also work wonderfully for recording something like acoustic guitar. I'm so taken with it for how I sound doing voice work that I have recommended it to everyone I know who also does this kind of work. I can't imagine a voice that wouldn't sound great on it, and it's proof you don't have to spend a lot of money to get a quality microphone.

As a professional voice actor I am incredibly impressed by the buttery smooth, transparent, high-end sound quality of Roswell’s Mini K87 — a microphone that sounds just as high-end, as many studio grade mics 2 to 3 times its price. Besides the top-notch build quality of the microphone, I also appreciated the well designed shockmount as well as the sturdy carrying case that came with the package. I look forward to using the K87 as my primary vocal mic in all of my narration work going forward.

I am completely stunned at how good this mic is for my voice. I am a professional voice actor, and use a TLM103 on a daily basis, and I was looking for comparable to travel with for my voice type, I cannot tell the difference, truly. I'm certain there are all kinds of things some would find to pick apart but for me this is perfection. I had heard others in the profession tell same but you really have to hear it to believe it! WOW!
