Avenger AV-65948 Steel Cutting Saw Blade, 6-1/2-inch by 48 tooth
This blade fit my Dewalt DC390 18V cordless circular saw perfectly and was much less expensive than the ferrous metal cutting blades made by Freud, Milwaukee, Irwin and some of the other big brand names. It has been working great for routine cutting of 1/2", 3/4" and 1" EMT. It also worked perfectly on some larger 1-1/4" EMT I installed a while back. It makes nice clean, straight cuts without the shower of sparks that you get with a cut-off wheel in a chop saw or 4" grinder and the cuts made in the EMT require only minimal reaming of the inner edge afterward. I have also used it to cut 1-5/8" Unistrut and 3/8" threaded rod. It went through these quickly and with very little effort. The cut edges of the strut were smooth with little or no cleanup with a file needed after. With this blade, my little cordless circ saw will cut metal faster than my corded Milwaukee portable band saw does, even with a fresh blade. The Avenger blade is made in China, but seems to be holding up well and I will definitely be ordering some more of these blades to have on hand. If you've never used one of these 6-1/2" ferrous metal cutting blades before, I think once you do you'll wonder how you ever got along with out it.

Great alternative to cut-off wheels in some situations
My first use was to cut steel roofing panels, and it worked great. Cuts fast and straight and creates minimal burring on edges that is easily cleaned up with a mill file and soft sanding block. No sparks so easy to see cut-line. Abrasive cut-off wheels create a much rougher edge, and sparks make it harder to follow cut-line. I marked it down a star because it throws back a stinging spray of small shards to your face. I wore full eye goggles (a necessity) but this really wants a full-face shield to reduce the sting. You also want to avoid getting the metal "dust" into your clothes since it is sharp and uncomfortable, unlike wood sawdust.Initially bought for cutting wood that may have nails or metal inside; haven't tried that yet but would expect that to work fine.

Unsafe at any speed.
In roughly forty years as a carpenter, I've never come across a worse blade - not even close. On first use, there was a strong vibration. I verified that the arbor hole was tight on the arbor and then rotated it by hand to verify that the hole was centered to the plate. (You do this by raising the blade until it just kisses a surface, then turning it slowly. Each "kiss" should sound the same.) During that process, I saw that one of the expansion slots still had its plug in it. I removed the plug and started the saw again, but there was still too much vibration. I removed and inspected the blade closely and found a random variation on the back side of the carbide tips. The raker tips have square backs (which I assume is intentional) but so did a random assortment of the triple chips. The upshot is that I learned a $23 lesson never to buy another Avenger branded blade. I've attached a photo to illustrate the plug that was left behind and to illustrate the lack of quality control that let this thing get out the door. I personally am opposed to having small, sharp pieces of metal flying around the workplace at 100 miles per hour - but to each his own.

steel cutting blade.
This blade is awesome I put it in an old craftsman all metal saw and was a little apprehensive as i cut 1/4 inch.steel It cut it like butter.Today i tried 1/2 inch and it cut it a little slower but perfect. This is the blade to buy if you don't want to spend the money for a metal chop saw

Good metal cutting blade. Not much experience with it but should work well with my setup.

Unbelievably good!
Unbelievable! This is an incredible blade -- like having a plasma cutter for just twenty dollars, ONLY BETTER! I have had it go through 1/2 inch plate with ease. No filing or finishing needed on the part; mirror finish with zero burrs in mild commercial steel.

This blade is keeping up with the more expensive diablos I've purchased in the past. Doesn't seem to matter what kind of metal I put in front of it. If you know your material, you can let thus blade do the work.
