Great, clean looking and functioning thermostat
A great looking thermostat and huge amount of settings. The display will way outlast the color ones since it is a backlit LCD that can be read in full daylight without backlight. As long as there is a fifth wire that carries the 24V power to run it, it can be used with any furnace. To control the variable speed Train furnace blowers at other speeds, more wires are needed. This is my second unit for the upstairs. One function in the settings that i used, was that it's temperature reading was off by 1 degree. It read too high and I fixed in the installer menu settings. The unit that came with my downstairs furnace was reading correctly. I have a calibrated thermometer I use to adjust all my thermometers for my beer brewing and used that as the reference. When connected to the optional Nexia bridge using the free service supplied for this thermostat, it keeps track of all the numbers like indoor and outdoor temps and hours runs. This information is only available on the desktop version of the service, the mobile app is seriously handicapped. You can only set temperature up or down, nothing else. Seems almost worthless to me.I have two of these, one for my upstairs and one for the downstairs AC/furnace, so I found the Nexia bridge hookup worthwhile. Using the web based software lets me monitor my home's temperature while I am away.

Not open source Z-Wave compatable.
This thermostat is not Z-Wave compatable as advertised. The only way it works with Z-Wave is through Nexia. If you use any other Z-Wave hub (i.e. ISY) it will not be able to control this thermostat with Z-Wave.Stand alone, the thermostat is great, but if your buying it because you want to incorperate it into any Z-Wave network other than through Nexia, don't bother.

I recommend this thermostat by Trane for all Z-wave controllers
I bought this for a dual fuel (heat pump & gas) HVAC system. I recommend this thermostat by Trane for all Z-wave controllers, but if you have a dual fuel system, and use Nexia ZWave, this is the only thermostat you can use (unless you buy the big all-in-one weather touch screen system). If you do not have dual-fuel, you might consider the less expensive Trane Zwave thermostat. I have it also. But, I would still pay $20 extra for the touch screen on this one.Pros: - Dual fuel, touch screen, extensive ability to customize, works with remote thermostats, can leverage an external thermostat to know when to shift to emergency (gas) heat, easy to use.Cons: - Requires 24v power line from HVAC. Cannot run on batteries. This is not a problem for most systems as 24v is fairly standard unless you are replacing a wireless thermostat. So, for my situation (dual fuel & Nexia), this thermostat was my only solution -- and I'm very happy with it. This thermostat will support almost all other situations (need 24v power), but you also have other comperable choices. - If you're not tied to Nexia, you can find other

50/50. One is great the other is not.
I bought two of these. One works great but the other one has to be reprogrammed every time the power goes out. It’s easy to reprogram but it sucks having to do it. I’m not sure the other one never has to be reprogrammed. It is fine after a power outage.

This thermostat works fine as a stand-alone unit
Using the touch-screen controls is somewhat fiddly. Worked fine with Z-wave home control system, and the combination of this capability along with stand-alone programmability is rare in this category.

Poor thermostat
This thermostat is extremely frustrating. It it VERY slow to respond to changing room temperatures, and always overshoots the desired setting. For example, I set it to heating 70°, it runs and runs, then when it finally stops, the room is at 73°. The temperature sensor inside is very slow to react. I’ll stick to a Honeywell thermostat.

works fine.
don't work with veraplus, generate heat and temperature is 2-3 degree higher that room temp. works fine.

Nice for the money
Many utilities will credit the majority of the cost of this control. It is easy to install and it is very precise.
