Fiskars13" Clearing Hook 385061-1002

This tool is a nice weight - excellent for hacking at roots!

In our area we are plagued with Japanese Stilt grass. With this "hook" shaped tool it is easy to grab a handful of stilt grass and then use the hook to scrap the underlying earth to free the grass from the earth. So much effective than simply trying to pull the grass out.

I have been a Master Gardener for almost 20 years. My 3 favorite tools that make life easier are: Fiskars 13" Clearing Hook to slide under the dirt to cut off roots & other weeding projects, Jovanti 1.6 electric pruners for pruning limbs and vines, and the Japanese Garden Weeding Twisted Sickle Hoe for weeding, digging and planting. I use these all the time. The Fiskars Clearing Hook does exactly that. I slide it under the dirt so that roots are cut & destroyed and lift right out of the dirt. This tool makes grabbing and cutting off vines very easy and quick. There are other uses for it too. It is 1 of my main 'go to' tools that has helped me very much. Would not be without it.

This tool is great for all round yard and garden clearing and maintaining. Needs no batteries only a willing arm. Stays sharp even while working in the dirt. Cant fail with Fiskars.

The tool is NOT sharp. My wife could not cut with it. I had to sharpen it with a specially shaped file by hand. Now she can cut with it. We are NOT able to Saw with it because I do not own a tool to sharpen the saw blade. I purchased it as a Christmas present for my wife and in July, my wife tried to use it. TOO LATE TO RETURN IT. I am trying to imagine what went wrong with the manufacturing process. I am thinking a college educated Mechanical Engineer thought it was a good idea to place a heavy duty finish over a sharp blade ???? the finish is very nice. The handle is very nice. Also: The included jacket doesn't fit the tool. Not able to use the safety snap.

It works as advertised. Great for hacking down small bushes and larger weeds. Not sure of the application of the serrated edge as I don't see it as great for sawing larger branches but could be wrong. Very sturdy and well made. JUST WISH I COULD FIND INFORMATION ON HOW TO KEEP SHARP. Nothing on website.

Item has a great soft grip for a handle and reduces the impact felt. The shape and style lend to easy use in close quarters. I thought the back ribs for sawing would be useless but was surprised at all the close places i can get to in shave off chucks. Would recommend.

As ordered. Good for small shrubs and flower stalks.

In der Produktbeschreibung ist zu lesen und auf den Bildern zu sehen, dass der Clearing Hook einen Sägerücken hat. Das ist falsch. Es ist nur ein angedeuteter Wellenschliff vorhanden. Ansonsten ist der Clearing Hook für leichte Gartenarbeiten zu verwenden, außer zum sägen von Ästen.

Works like a hot damn!! Can’t wait to cut out more trails this summer, used it today to cut out one it works amazing!

I was excited to buy this tool. It works nicely for removing weeds and small saplings and branches.However, I was quite disappointed it barely has an edge and more rips saplings out instead of actual cutting.
