They work very good but the screws twist off easily. Even though I pre-drilled every hole and carefully screwed them in by hand, five times I had to start over due to broken screws.

I have some built in shutters in my living room. They came with some plastic magnetic latches. After a few years in the window area where they get the evening sun, the latches disintegrated.These latches were about the same size, so I bought them. They installed easier than the original latches, because all the holes were pre drilled from the original latches. They hold with more force than the original ones do. This was the first thing my 2 year old granddaughter noticed. She can no longer open them to look outside. This was an unexpected bonus for me, but my granddaughter might disagree with me on this.

Just barely holds the doors closed on an entertainment center. Ok for now.

Great value too

Not strong as state “15lb High Magnetic Plastic Heavy Duty”.

These latches are a great price, but you get what you pay for. First, the hold rating is subjectively way less than 15#. Second, the quality is not that great, but does the job. Some of the latches didn’t have the attachment slots punched out, causing some frustration cutting it out manually. Finally, the screws are made of very low grade metal. About a half dozen of the screw heads popped off during installation. I drilled pilot holes and used a manual screw driver to avoid over torquing them. There’s no excuse supplying such flimsy screws. I’d suggest buying the latch set sold without the screws and buy better quality screws at your local store.

The plastic is very cheap. You have to be careful not to over tighten because the plastic will break. The magnet is very weak. I seriously doubt it will hold 15 pounds.
