Good tire for the cost. 1 dowfall is road noise.
Front is wearing fine after the few thousand miles. Rear is wearing fast. I wont make it to 5000 miles on the rear. Ran into deep sand and the tires got me thru it. Wasnt easy or fun but I did not get stuck. Very loud. A decent tire for the money but I will likely buy something else next time just based on the road noise. R1200 GS Adventure.

M40 is an Alright Tire
I ordered them early in June of 2016. Got too busy to ride, and finally got them on headed straight for the off-road. They were better than the BridgeS off road. The BridgeS lasted nearly 9,000 miles on the rear.M40s made my Super Tenere into the tank everyone describes. It also seems to be a capable street tire. Probably a 70/30, it made me, a non offroad rider more confident. Not a knobby, not smooth but wide enough grooves to evacuate soil, mud, and moisture.Tested areas: GREAT on Paved asphalt upto 60 MPH; GREAT on Packed gravel; GREAT on Wet grass berm (3 ft high almost vertical); GREAT on Packed dirt road; GOOD on soft dirt road; GOOD on slick mud road. Some reviews rate it under the more popular off-road from Germany. It cost less, but also less mileage (according to reviews) but overall it depends on riding style. I know myself to be a mostly highway rider. Expert off-roader will probably want more, but I am impressed. 70/30 is great for me. The BridgeS is probably a 90/10.Initially I am inclined to believe I want to try the high mileage German or E7, but we will see. The reviews seem to vary greatly on whether the M40 is adequate. I know enough to say I will not regret this purchase.

these are working out great. No complaints on the road or well maintained ...
For the price, these are working out great. No complaints on the road or well maintained dirt roads. I like my Heide K60s better but they are much more expensive. I'll probably stick with these unless I'm going on an epic adventure.
