Delish!
Love the taste! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Best umeboshi I have ever tasted sort of melts in your mouth!

Oishii
Everyone has their favorite umeboshi. Mine are homemade by my neighbor in Nagoya, so they're not exactly available here in the US. These come as close to any of the many types I've tried to purchase from Amazon. They are a balance of salty and sour, and just a tiny bit sweet to take the edge off. I only wish they would come packed with more shiso.

Mellow flavor, not too salty
The liquid from the umeboshi leaked out and onto other contents in my box. Including masks. The flavor of these is very mellow which is nice to switch things up sometimes. Not salty which is good. However I don't know if I'd buy again cause I'm pretty sure the price is really marked up.

Not vegan - contains fish sauce
Seller did not list fish ingredients anywhere and unfortunately the product ingredient label was not pictured on product page. I am out $20 because food items are not returnable.

Not to my taste
I admire and enjoy washoku and really wanted to try umeboshi. I really wanted to like them and this is a respected brand, but I just couldn't quite get to liking the taste. Maybe I'd like another variety, but I'm not sure.

Very versatile
I was pleasantly surprised these umeboshi were tender and easy to handle. First, I like to make hot umeboshi tea by adding one to a large cup f hot water to sooth upset stomach, or cold. When using to cook, remove the seed and make a paste t add to pasta seasoning, make sushi (umekyu), macaroni salad by mixing umeboshi and mayonaise, etc. It is not cheap but the effect it has on my prepared foods make it all worth it. This brand was the best one I found in Amazon so far.

Not sour
I bought these because I've heard umeboshi plums are super sour, but these were just salty and nothing else. Also, they aren't pitted, so you have to deal with the seeds, but you get a bunch so the value's ok.
