Natural salts are the most healthful and contain minerals not found in processed salt.
Previous to buying this salt, I had bought a course Himalayan salt because we use a salt grinder. The course salt was difficult to grind. This salt tasted very good and isn't so hard to grind as the course. So far, we are very happy with this salt. We no longer use commercial table salt at all as it contains too many ingredients to prevent caking, and is also processed to make the color white. Natural salts are the best and the most healthful as they contain minerals not found in commercial salt. We also use Celtic salt. The difference is that Himalayan salt is collected from caves and Celtic salt is collected from the sea. UPDATE 07/06/22: We used both Celtic Sea salt and the pink Himalayan salt for a while, but for the last few months, I find I prefer the Himalayan salt over the Celtic Sea salt since the moisture in Celtic Sea salt tends to clog the salt grinder and it doesn't grind as well. The Himalayan salt is a bit harder and can take a little more effort to grind it, but the distribution of salt from the grinder is much better. I also found that Himalayan salt has many health benefits and can actually help to lower blood pressure when used instead of table salt. This is some of the information I found in my research. 1) Himalayan salt’s rich mineral content can help your body detoxify. Himalayan salt contains more than 80 minerals and elements, including potassium, iron and calcium. All of these minerals aid our body’s natural detoxification process and promote the removal of bacteria. 2) It contains less sodium than processed table salt and lowers blood pressure. Table salt is highly processed and contains fewer minerals and more sodium than Himalayan salt does. When you swap table salt for Himalayan salt, your body has an easier time processing it because it doesn’t require as much water to clear out the excess sodium as it would have if you had consumed table salt. To boot, Himalayan salt is naturally rich in iodine, which food companies add artificially to table salt after processing it. The natural iodine in Himalayan salt is very effective at helping your body create an electrolyte balance, helping your intestines absorb nutrients and lowering blood pressure. 3) Contrary to what most people believe, Himalayan salt can aid hydration. If the body’s water content drops by as little as 2 percent, we will feel fatigued. When we sweat or workout, we lose minerals, or electrolytes. Drinking water with a pinch of mineral-rich Himalayan salt after a workout can help you regain them and, in turn, your energy and hydration. 4) It improves digestion. Himalayan salt’s rich mineral content helps balance your body’s pH levels. When our pH levels are balanced, our bodies have better immunity and are better able to process and digest food. 5) Himalayan salt is a more natural alternative to table salt. Table salt is usually heavily refined and mixed with anti-caking agents to prevent clumping, such as sodium aluminosilicate or magnesium carbonate. Himalayan salt is less artificial and does not usually contain additives. At this point in time, we have not used table salt in well over 6 years, and would never go back to using it. I also use this salt in my homemade bread recipes, and my bread raises better than it ever did with table salt. I highly recommend pink Himalayan salt or even Celtic Sea salt if you prefer a moister salt. Either on is much healthier than table salt. I hope this review was helpful for you.

Fabulous Salt!!! Great Buy! Delighted !!!
I wanted to try Himalayan Pink kosher salt. I had some at a chef friend's house and really liked the distinctive flavor. I have high blood pressure and have an iron-clad NO SALT in cooking policy in my kitchen, both my cooking and my hubbies, since he has mostly taken over the cooking since retiring! I have spent the past 40 years perfecting the ability to cook without salt and still have delicious foods, palatable to all! I do use table salt; in fact I adore salt! I crave salt! Hence, I wanted to experience this salt. This was the best buy with the best reviews on this site. I am glad I bought this and read all the reviews! This is a fabulous buy for the quality of this product!!! It is very course and packaged well in a re-zipable package. It is very clean and fresh! It tastes divine! I put it into a pepper grinder and grind as needed! I indulge myself in a tad of this as needed at the table. It is very potent; a tiny bit will do the job!!! Please be aware of this! It is much stronger than any other salts, so a tiny bit does the trick! I highly recommend this product and this seller; great service and product!

Quality chunky salt for grinder
This is a lot of salt and perfect for my salt grinder. I tried table salt but I just drained right out. Yikes. Only reason not 5 stars is it’s hard to get from bag into the grinder. Some salt was lost to the countertop monster and was promptly wiped up.

Salt is Soft but Good
I usually buy Costco Pink Himalayan Salt but was running out. This salt is good value for money. After I refilled Costco Salt Grinder with this salt, I noticed it was much easier to grind as if this salt is softer (if that is even possible). I would get a "good workout" when grinding Costco Pink Himalayan Salt but this salt I can grind without getting "tired in wrist”. The taste of this is a bit more "saltier" than Costco's. I'm new to Pink Himalayan Salt and have no clue what any of this means in regards to quality, etc just glad there are no chemicals in them. This salt is for Dad who’s blood pressure tends to run low, I give about 1/4 tsp before each meal, his meals not heavily salted and he eats very small potions. Doctor said to give him more salt with his food. When Dad was in Hospital he was given Sodium Chloride pill 1g per day, which he said taste horrible and I noticed it raised his pressure too much. We have always used Celtic Sea Salt but that not affect his blood pressure at all (See DrBrownstein.com and his studies with Celtic Sea Salt). I read Himalayan Sea Salt had more minerals than Celtic Sea Salt. We will continue to use Celtic Sea Salt but Dad will use Himalayan Sea Salt.

Loving this sale! I've been a fan of this company for years!
Great salt! I buy the 5 pound bags. I think that this pink Himalayan sea salt tastes a lot better than your standard table salt. It's something about the extra minerals that are involved in the salt. I really enjoy and trust the San Francisco salt company, and I have never had a bad experience with one of their products. They make a lot of very interesting different types of salts. It's fun to kind of build up a collection of different salts and you can offer them to your guests when they come over for dinner. It's always an interesting conversation piece to talk about where different salts come from.

I do a lot of gourmet cooking. This is excellent sea salt at a very good price for the quantity. I use it as a finishing salt, in soups & stews & bone broth, & grind it with pepper. The flavour is what I expect from Himalayan salt & the grain size is perfect for adding a dash on top of salted caramel desserts without the saltiness overpowering the sweetness.

I dissolve about a rounded tablespoon in hot water and add it to my bath water. Got rid of itchy skin, and feel so refreshed!
