Soft, tasty treats that may help my older JRT with his arthritis.
I have a 15 year old JRT who is really arthritic and I am looking for supplements to help him move better. What I like about these treats is that they are tasty - he really likes them, but more importantly they are soft. My dog recently had 15 teeth removed, so he no longer can chew dry dog food or crunchy bones. These are perfect because he can chew them and he really likes the taste. I am sure they help a little with his movement but there are no miracle cures out there that I have found so far.

Quality ingredients But maltodextrin may not be sutable for diabetic pets
Ingredients from Vivamune Website Active Ingredients OxC-beta . . . 5 mg, AltatreneTM β-carotene. . 0.25 mg, LycoteneTM lycopene. . . . 0.125 mg Inactive Ingredients arabic gum, brewers yeast, calcium sulfate, canola oil, chicken liver flavor, glycerin, maltodextrin, mixed tocopherols, oat flour, oat meal, pectin, propionic acid, rye flour, sodium alginate, sorbic acid, soy lecithin, starch, water.I have been looking for a non Glucosamine joint supplement for my dog as he has diabetes unfortunately this has maltodextrin which I don't think would be good for a diabetic dog.According to Wikipedia Maltodextrins are classified by DE (dextrose equivalent) and have a DE between 3 and 20. The higher the DE value, the shorter the glucose chains, the higher the sweetness, the higher the solubility, and the lower heat resistance. Above DE 20, the European Union's CN code calls it glucose syrup, at DE 10 or lower the customs CN code nomenclature classifies maltodextrins as dextrins. Maltodextrin has a glycemic index ranging from 85 to 105Healthline website states: Despite being only slightly sweet, if at all, maltodextrin is a carbohydrate. It will affect your blood sugar. This is an important thing for people with diabetes to remember. However, some companies also make “resistant maltodextrin” by treating starch with heat, acid, or enzymes. Resistant maltodextrin functions as an isolated fiber and may help lower your blood sugar.Sugar and Sweetener guide site states: Maltodextrin is a group of complex sugars, rather than one carbohydrate. It ranges from more complex to less so and this depends on the method of production. It is enzymatically produced from starch. The enzymes break the glucose chains in the starch molecules into shorter units, similar to the process of digestion in the human body.Depending of how far this process is taken the product can vary from a non sweet starch to a sweet sugar composed of glucose molecules in short chains. It is not really useful as a sweetener, as it not sweet enough. It has a high glycemic index ranging from 85 to 105 so it should not be considered suitable for diabetics.Made from any type of starch, corn, wheat, potato rice etc. Enzymes and acid are used to break down the starch molecules into shorter glucose chains. This looks like such a great product! Bummer, as I am concerned of the glycemic and carb impact the maltodextrin will do to my dog. Darn, back to my search.

Definitely helps with shedding
I have a German Shepherd and he almost completely quit shedding and I stopped buying these for awhile and boy was that a huge mistake he started shedding again and it was the worst I have ever seen! Fur everywhere! So now he's back on these and I see a huge difference there is barely any shedding now. I highly recommend these plus I am happy that they help healthy joints too!

Dog Vitamins
I have used Vivamune for several years now for my French Bulldog. They usually have dry skin issues and her skin seems much better and she loves to get one for a reward treat. I will continue to order as I feel it is beneficial to her.
