I've been coloring my hair for 40 years and have tried all the more expensive brands, as well as having it done at a salon. I mix two Colorsilk colors (this one with about 20% Auburn added) to get the perfect Dark Auburn, that doesn't look fake red. I always hated how "auburn" hair color usually looks pink or purple in the sun. So artificial looking and I prefer natural. Not only that, but this doesn't smell bad like most hair color. Quite pleasant. And it doesn't stain the skin the way most others do. It lasts a solid 4 weeks before root touch ups. And it's half the price of most other drug store brands. :)

My dad’s hair is grey and this dye turned it black. Given it’s been a couple weeks it’s faded and is closer to brown but still a bit darker than the box. so just keep that in mind.
